Really poor press conference, that. Not a great attitude from Dyche, crap answers to most of the questions.

If Keane or Maupay start this weekend i'll be on the Dyche out wagon.

I think if we lose this weekend, our owner will be loading the old firing pistol.

And he won’t have a manager in place to replace him. It will be like the koeman situation all over. Having said that he is having to do the dirty work of Thelwell and Kenright as he is front of house.

But it's not a crisis after two games. This is a crisis of more than two seasons (much more if we're being honest). Come on, man. And then the answer to that Chermiti question. The apathy and contempt this club and its fans are dealt with by the ownership is just criminal.

What EFC (and other clubs) continue to ignore, is that these media duties / press conferences should be used as a channel to get info out to supporters so there is engagement. Instead they treat them as if it's the last thing they'd ever want to do and spend their time trying to be smart / evade questions or in our case fed with complete and utter jargon and soundbites.

What would you prefer he said?

I knew the club was in a really difficult spot when I arrived, but we managed to achieve our objective last season and that's the bare minimum we are looking at this season.

We've lost some experienced heads over the summer and know the areas that we need to strengthen in. I've made it very clear to those that make the deals here that we're going to make it very difficult for ourselves if we don't get deals over the line.

Everybody can see the difficulties that Dom has been through, and we're working hard to get him back and to keep him back in the side. Last week was a setback but thankfully not related to any previous injury.

Neal has had a tough time of it and we're looking to ease the burden on him in Dom's absence. Look around virtually every other club in the league - they all have more than two strikers in their squads, and that's the area we need to be addressing as quickly as possible.

We need to do better in defence. Last week we had three incredibly experienced heads in the back four yet gave away at least two goals that even a Sunday league side wouldn't give away. It's not the first time that this has happened on my watch, and we're looking at how we can change that, especially since we have large numbers of defenders available to us. Jarrad got himself some great experience last season and he's definitely on the verge of a start for us.

Dyche is not a good enough manager to be that smug and condescending.

Carlo could pull it off because he's successful and charming. Dyche just come across as a kid who's trying too hard to be nonchalant and cool. I dislike his personality immensely.

Dyche came across as a little tetchy and maybe even a tad belligerent in his presser today. The media are far from hard on him or even particularly imposing in any way in their questioning, and yet its obvious his demeanour is that of a man who's under pressure and clearly struggling to comprehend the scale of the dysfunction of the club, and probably what's coming down the line.

He didn't come across as anything other than defensive and impatient. His general demeanour at the end of last season was much more focussed and relaxed.

He didn't want Chermiti (that's clear) and isn't adept at handling general routine questioning from a press pack who are fairly soft in their approach. Getting flustered about Wolves' apparent problems, when he was asked about their team and form illustrates inward pressure and a lack of attention and defensiveness.

I don't know. Hopefully they can kickstart the season on Saturday but the general vibe is that of a man who's carrying much more pressure than he's ever been used. Plus ça change.....

This is a very simple problem. As a Premiere League team you CANNOTT afford to be weak at both ends of the pitch. You only get points from a solid defence or a strong attack. the latter is down to poor recruitment above dyche. the former is squarely down to the manager. If you have players performing badly and you have an alternative then roll the dyche - Branthwaite or even Godfrey cannot do worse. Consistency is not a goal if you are playing badly!

In previous seasons I would agree, but I reckon the compo we'd have to pay out makes it out of the equation.

I hate ending up at these games been far too many recently.

Whatever he picks better win Saturday, the same tired half assed Everton of recent seasons tuned up last weekend which I had hoped with preseason under Dyche had been banished, maybe you cant polish turds.

It really feels like we (not me) are turning on him too soon and for the wrong reasons. He has had some terrible luck and zero cash yet we stayed up and beat some good sides. It is like the wheels of hate are grinding on fed by made up myths and tales and he becomes another for the boo boys. We reap what we sow sometimes.

Should he drop certain players - yes, should he make changes earlier - yes, Carlo and Moyes did the same. If he goes, no manager worth a cent will come in to this mess.

The Dyche Out wagon is getting us nowhere regardless of how much I'll also want to punch him in the face if Maupay and Keane start. Targeting the wrong person and precisely what the board want.
