Transfer Rumour Che Adams

Has anyone got that picture of the fella (Everton) holding hands with his missus (Maupay) looking back with long term admiration at the other woman (Che Adams)

Just one of them 'meh' signings...

If he was Everton's first choice, Everton would have tried to get him in months ago. Everton were hoping for something better and you'd expect the player did as well.

'meh' signings sometimes does well. Remember the spending in January? Clubs risking relegation spent a lot of money on players that made no difference. While the best and most important signing in the entire window probably was Craig Dawson.

A little alarming that when Southampton were facing relegation last season, they chose to spend big money on offensive players to stay up. Them wasting money on players worse than Adams was important for Everton avoiding relegation.

Southampton might be awful at signing players, but they were right when they in January realized that they weren't staying up with Adams as their number 9.

Worth up to £12 mill, so be less then £12 mill with add ons.

£12m for Adams with 1 year on his deal, that is massively steep.

And to put that in to context what price do you think Everton will sell Iwobi for in the last year of his contract? Not what you think he is worth, how much do you think Everton will sell for.

Our DOF & chairman is hopeless with negotiations, we always overpay for players and get bummed selling them...

Coincidentally I’ve read the phrase “it is what it is” quite a lot today regarding signing Adams.
Facts are salient. Im sure if we could, we would be pulling Ferguson from Brighton and such like but we not in that financial league now. Cut your cloth accordingly, I suppose.

We got £45m for Gordon and made a profit on Kean

Because he's cheap and has a lot of qualities our manager desires in a striker.

I don’t consider £12m cheap. Yes it’s cheap compared to Declan Rice, but it’s still a significant sum for a club like us who make absolutely no money ourselves.

I said earlier I'm surprised they don't keep him even with his contract running down - 2 games in and his goals for them has already given them 3 points.

He'd get them 20+ goals, easy. Could be the difference between them coming back up or not.

I hear you . I just get angry particularly at those who make out these kind of signings would overall result in a great window.

We paper over cracks time and again and nothing seems to change. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to eventually be fed up of that. It just goes on and on.

Yeah that doesn’t look great.
However, Maupay’s most successful years were based on him playing in a 442 system geared to get the best out of him. He’s now not in that system and is underperforming massively.

Adams has got his success playing in our type of system and should be more suited to reproduce his career average numbers for Everton than Maupay
All the time Hasenhuttl was at Southampton he played in a 4-4-2/4-2-2-2 system, so Adams really hasnt played much at all as a main striker in a 4-3-3

That tell's me it's not going to happen.

500-1000 at the protests… these are the deals we end up with
