It's a shame because he will be a very good player in the future, but what chance does he have in this side? If he passes it to one of our full backs the attack is dead, and if he passes it to Iwobi then nothing is coming of the move. All this team is good for is making a few passes sideways and backwards, and even then it's a matter of time before we either over/underhit a pass needlessly and lose possession, or inexplicitly smash it out of play under no pressure at all.

James needs to stop playing the ball short to Iwobi on corners like he did several times today and needs to be pushing everybody else away from free kicks.

Needs to find his best position and we build around him.

Should've been moved more centrally.

Dont show Davek that clip of the goal, would crush his Garner RB dreams. He played fine but theres only so much you can do when not playing in your natural position due to shortages. Didnt particularly do much, but again, hes a central midfielder who just happens to have enough talent to cover other spots when needed.

There are things to like about his game for sure but it just isn’t going to work for him on the right. Glad he does his job and all but he needs to get minutes centrally.

Can see his quality, its obvious. But this is what happens when you play a CM out of position, the defensive positioning isnt there.

Must pair with Onana centrally...linked up with Onana well and on paper a great potential partnership.

Will have to watch it again on MOTD but surely given Fulham had 4-5 passes Patterson should've been in that area ahead of Garner? He wasn't sucked infield or coming across to cut out Periera (that was Keane) so where exactly was he? Sure @davek has Patterson's heat map recorded so can tell me.

I saw that Garner was the one running back as Reid scored but, Shouldn't Patterson have been marking their wide player?

Or did I miss something? Highly likely as my attention was drifting more and more with each missed chance.

Patterson was covering for the two cbs who went awol mate. They were all over the place.
