Confirmed Signing Arnaut Danjuma

Yeah, he’s a left winger. Same as McNeil. Isn’t Gnonto also a left winger? Yeah I know he CAN play central/behind Striker/on the right but he’s mostly played his effective football it seems off the left. McNeil CAN also play on the right or central, but we know he’s most effective off the left. Danjuma CAN play as striker/on the right/behind striker, but those stats clearly suggest he’s a left winger and that’s where he excels (assists as well as goals). Surely that ends any pursuit of Gnonto? We’re not signing a third left winger are we?

Our scouting is baffling at times. Why can’t we scout and target a player who’s natural and best position is on the RIGHT which we don’t have in the squad? Instead of buying players who can “do a job” in their least effective positions and try and fit square pegs in round holes?

His record as Striker isn’t bad at all so that’s currently where I’d be starting him if DCL is out, McNeil on the left

Purely from these stats I'm not sure it's conclusive that his best position is on the left. The stats are:

Left winger: 0.35 goals per game, 0.62 goals / goal contributions per game
CF: 0.5 goals per game, 0.59 goals / goal contributions per game

Obviously would also need to look at the specific nature of the games

Given the position we're in, he definitely seems a good addition for me and hopefully provides a better option than Maupay as back up striker...

It's obviously hard to get players also so there may be aspects that are not perfect, but certainly helps the cause

These are the perfect loan candidates. Players with something to prove that will be looking to draw interest or impress their former teams. I don’t care if he’s a journeyman. If he accomplishes what he set out to prove and leaves the next year, thanks and bye Felicia. We got a good stopgap and saved ourselves from overspending on another Maupay.

He's an articulate lad and he's saying all the right things in answer to the usual banal questions.

Hopefully, the connection between brain and boots is just as bright. We look forward to seeing his cobra often (no offence).

A few hours ago I tried to read the story on Toffeeweb, but the link was broken. I started to worry about a Muller re-run - the bunting, the fatted calf, the royal blue carpet and a dozen vegas showgirls... only for said ingrate to immediately peg it.

Relieved to see him sign at last. We're a real club still and not just some experiment. Good.

Has he? I’m assuming you have only seen him play since he joined Leeds? Who put him on the left as they already had Summerville on the right. But prior to Leeds, he had played much more central or on the right. And in terms of goals and assists, he has been most effective as a second striker.

And the stats you show also show Danjuma as being slightly more effective in terms of goal contributions as a CF.
