I fear we are in a position of letting deals run down but lets not forget, Tom Davies was offered a contract extension so the signs aren’t good.
I thought that when we reverted to signing players with either or all of very inflated fees, contracts and wages (and in some of those cases for poor footballers) years ago, it sent clear smoke signals up as to our desperation.
The next stage was players being courted dilatory style (on the radar...mulling over...showing interest in...vying with X to impress ..) then them eventually kb'ng us and joining others. Our stock with everyone is the lowest it's been.....and as an Evertonian from a kid in the late 60s, that's a further arrow through the heart after the shameful club hierarchy mess and the relegation traumas.
