Summer transfer window 2023

Yes still will be imo. Mina, Townsend, Davies and reserve keepers savings swallowed up by contract increases to the likes of Pickford and the signing of Young. There will also be no market for Dele or Gbamin this year to the loan them so we will pay all their wages. Next season there is an opportunity for a complete rebuild. Everton can no longer afford big salaries unless you are reliable pillars of the first team performing well like Pickford or Tarks
Even the likes of Mykolenko are on £60k per week, we are a bottom half of the league team who offer top half wages, it's utter madness and it's been killing us for years. It's what happens when you don't work towards a proper recruitment structure/plan.

Mina, Townsend, Davies and Begovic probably pushing 200k between them a week, probably pushing towards 250k - 300k once you take Coady and Vinagre out too. Pickford pay rise and Young's wage won't be half of that.

Also, the last accounts we saw ended last summer before the departures of Sigurdsson, Allan, Delph, Tosun, Richarlison, probably 500k a week there too. Obviously players have also come in but not on that scale, things will still be bad but it's an improving picture on the wage front, and like you say next summer the last of the proper deadwood comes off the wage bill.

Linked with a few strikers there, half of them probably blag stories.

Boniface
Toure
Dembele
Gnonto
Danjuma

I’d never heard of him until this morning, but after looking at his stats, Boniface is the profile of player we should be targeting.
Cheese string knees.

It can't still be, can it? We have off loaded a lot of big earners

Yes it is mate. We’ve also added high earners in Gana, Maupay, Tarkwoski and Onana who will all be on over £60k a week. Gomes, Gbamin and Alli are on over £200k between them. Our wage bill is still too high, it was completely out of control previously. Will take a few years for it to level out and that’s assuming we have perfect transfer windows and add no further long term deadwood.

This current year (2022-23) will see our turnover fall to around £165 million, but our wage costs have dropped by an estimated £10 million to £152 million

Who has left that will remove £30m from the wage bill
losing them usmanov sponsorships killed us , the likes of wallcott bernard siggurdson delph etc all going should have improved us but once out turnover dropped as well we were back to square one

If that’s true and it probably is then we must sell one of two of our biggest assets Pickford or Onana or we put the trust in the youth.

For the umpteenth time how can our owner still want Kenwright around for another minute when his business is in tatters?? It’s beggars belief that someone so rich and successful is allowing his money to be set on fire.
Why wouldn’t he want him around? Kenwright is a very useful idiot who’s so desperate to cling on that he’s blinded by the fact that Moshiri is effectively using him as a shield. Moshiri knows that Kenwright will always cop the brunt of the ire and that suits him just fine, bringing in someone new would immediately shift full focus to Moshiri. It’s the oldest play in the book.
Kenwright is only here as deflection at this point (dead cat)… it tells us all we need to know about current situation. Grim

I agree wages are our big issue that 90% of turnover is killing us coupled with the decrease in commercial revenue and the stadium costs. The thing is though we probably broke even this year, we can probably technically spend as long as we recoup by the end of June next year which could be a Onana sale, but we could be looking for a Gray/Holgate sale to add to the youth sales for cash flow for incomings. Other clubs do it maybe Moshiri isn't willing to swallow the losses anymore especially with MSP coming in who some reckon will eventually buy his shares.

Probably over 300k I would say. You also had Walcott and bolasie, Bernard, James digne. The season before
