Transfer Rumour Wilifred Gnonto

From "about to sign him" to a "three-way battle", which will ultimately see our name just drop out of the reporting.

It's as ominous as when we were being "taken over by" by MSP "by Monday", six weeks ago.
Not one source ever said definitively it would be done the day after Bournemouth

We've had genuine interest/enquired along with what seems half the Leeds United squad but Inter have been linked with Gnonto. I think Gnonto will prefer Inter - not to mention that he come through their academy.

There's no credible UK source - just feels to me like this is agent play. If I had to bet, I'd say he'll end up at Inter.
Thing that gives this credence is the lad reporting it also was 1st to report Tonali to Newcastle.
But it does need a credible UK source tho.

He seems very hot and cold to me. The sort of player I’d be happy signing if we were a safe mid table team, but I’m not sure he’d be trusted in a relegation threatened team (hence was on the bench a lot at Leeds)

Also with his style of play and stature doesn’t seem a Dyche player at all tbh. Thought Harrison would be the more likely signing.
If dyche sticks to his philosophy of style from his Burnley days and buying players that suit that style. He won’t last the season.

He has to prove he has another string to his bow and can improve a
Teams style and move more in the 2020’s and not stay stuck in the 90’s

I saw this clip and looks like he has an instinct/ability to cut in/play in reminded me a bit of Pienaar but these clips are notoriously misleading.

….I think he’s a different ‘type’. I don’t think he’s technically gifted like Pienaar, he’s a similar height but much more of a conventional wide player with genuine speed.

Pienaar used to 'assist the assister' and while technically gifted, was never as direct as Gnonto looks and didnt go past players.

Limpar used to go past players, use a variety of crosses as Gnonto seems to and throw in some long distance shots. Both play with their head up and while Gnonto looks to be faster, Limpar wasnt a slouch acceleration wise.

While i dont think hes a replica, id guess hes the closest to Limpar wed have incoming since Limpar.

Having said that, i posted his positions earlier: https://www.transfermarkt.com/wilfried-gnonto/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/627626

Can play left or right and perhaps may rotate a fair bit...but he could be very effective in the Doucoure role that Dyche has been using. Thats where hes mostly played and has very good stats there.

Plenty of time for Tottenham to nab him yet
