Imagine my surprise to see the mainstream media fawning over Liverpool’s new signing and suggesting he’s as talented as Haaland without him having even kicked a ball for them yet.

Exactly what they did last season with Nunez.

It always has to be about them doesn’t it.

I mean he could be very good, but let’s hang on and at least see first.
I think Nunez will come good you know!

Especially now it isnt a world cup year and the reds players don't have to ad hear to FIFA tests

I reckon 1 in about 10 of these wide forwards who come to the PL for about £24-32m actually end up paying off

Brendon Aaronsen
Goncalo Guedes
Steven Bergwijn
Georginio Rutter
Luis Sinisterra
Kamaldeen Sulemana
Django Outtarra
Keane Lewis Potter

All a much of a muchness, maybe better shopping in the price bracket below with players like Tavernier (£11m)

I would say too early to judge on the players you’ve mentioned. Most of them are still very young apart from the first 2 in your list

Tonali to Newcastle also a done deal. Would not have thought him to be such a rat. Rate him highly but always thought he had a spine

Maybe Milan were happy to let him go due the fee involved. Not always down to the player.

Yeah, i understand, in the grand scheme of things, new signings who cost a penny or 2 very rarely come in and hit the ground running!
Football is so much more about tactics and understanding now, it is harder for an individual to be dropped into a new team and make a huge impact!
Unless obviously you are looking at dead cert purchases for +£80m (not a guarantee even then) or bargain signings because the bar is set so low (Demari Gray is a good example of this!

From what i have read is Tonali didn't want to go anywhere but Milan couldn't turn that amount of money down and Tonali wasent happy with Milan for that!
I want to believe that but sounds a lot like PR to soften the blow and keep doors open for a return if things don't work out
