Honestly I think this scenario, which is likely, isn't even sell to buy for us. I think United are probably going through the same thing but at a higher scale of course. Even if we had no issues it would make little sense for Moshiri, or the Glazers, to pump money into a club that won't be theirs for much longer. Moshiri might be selling us for £400m or whatever it is, that's with or without improvements to the squad, why would he effectively throw away anything from £10m to £50m that he won't get back in a sale in the next few months, makes no sense for him.
Now that's not a good situation of course but it's at least a glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel that it'll "eventually" be fixed at least. It's a poor choice but if given it I'd take a mad dash scramble at the end of the window under new ownership that allows us to be free to spend rather than penny pinching under Moshiri for the next undetermined amount of time.
