The Everton Board Thread

Moshiri put the money in, the board and the managers wasted it. Moshiri is building the ground we had been promised for years, Bill and DBB have both tried to claim credit for it. Our Board has made a total mess of spending Moshiri’s money. Moshiri should have had a clear out a couple of years ago, that’s his fault. Yet you appear to be absolving the failure of a board, who also dreamt up headlockgate and publicly blamed the fans, all of them not just one fan, then used this excuse to do a runner since January. Or was that Moshiri’s fault as well…….

Can't they all just go. They can fight amongst themselves who did worse or who's to blame.

None of them have been good enough.
I think Pete is right to a point but Dan nailed it, its a collective responsibility The board are done, Mosh needs to go too, sadly he is lacking in what is needed as far as running the club is concerned and it begs many question if you would allow people to be so free and easy with your money!

ALL Out is the way forward IMO and a reset.

It is not that simple or even close.
Yes, Moshiri funded the club since his arrival but continously made executive decisions like the appointment of Benitez against the wishes of the board.
Marco Silva spoke of coaches being told what teams to pick while on board the yacht of Usmanov.

The board are guilty of just sitting back and letting this madness unfold.
If they had the resolve to resign when they saw stupid decisions being made instead of rubber stamping them we might not be in our current mess.

And did any of these coaches resign. No, not them nor the board. Why ? Because it probably never happened. But let’s use weird accusations to absolve them and the board. Next it’ll be Moshiri set the tactics and oversaw the training…getting farcical now…….

He has no clue, which is why he was kept in the admin office with zero influence at Arsenal.

Todd Boehly has put his money where his mouth is, he must be the greatest owner in the world. Tony Fernandes put his money where his mouth is. Peter Ridsdale put his money where his mouth is.

There you go again, WHERE did I say he was the greatest Chairman in the world ? So then you're saying an owner should not put any money in at all, fine then we still disagree. Just said what you said in a different way, easy isn't it.

Kenwright is the only common denominator. There was no talk of Moshiri meddling till after the bulk of his war-chest was spent on rubbish. His biggest mistake was leaving the serial failure in charge instead of appointing his own.... but that was probably part of the deal. He had to spend a fortune just to clear the debts he inherited, then left the same crowd that accrued them to spend his money. Disastrous decision.

There's more than enough blame to go round. The way we signed 4 number 10s in a single transfer window and even then you could identify which was the chairman's, which was the owner's, which the manager's and which the DoF should be a tip off to anyone as to how chaotically we were run.

It was fairly common knowledge that he personally scouted Cenk Tosun. That was before the catastrophic 2019 summer.

I’m not saying that at all. I’m saying an owner’s responsibilities don’t begin and end at throwing a load of money into a pot for some arbitrary club employee to pick up. I don’t understand where this way of thinking has come from in our fanbase.

Clearly Moshiri has been an absolutely disastrous owner and needs to be cleared out with the rest of them, because he will finish the club if given any more time and influence over decision making.

Why the hell would they resign over it when being paid a fortune? Nobody is absolving the board, you are absolving the owner however.

And not a word of dissent from anyone.... which means they were either complicit or it's nonsense.

I’m not absolving the owner, he should have cleared them out a few years back, but it was not he who brought us to consecutive relegation positions…..

I can't blame anyone inside the club for not raising a stink, no sense in washing your dirty linen in public. But it absolutely gives the tip to the fact that nobody is in charge at Everton. There is no overarching vision or goal. The fsct that the only sensible money spent on those four players left the club having made only 19 appearances serves to underline this.

The players he insisted on bringing in above people's heads that meant resources couldn't be allocated elsewhere probably didn't help, did they? Like i say, there's more than enough blame to go round.

How wasn’t it? He appointed Rafael Benitez which turbo-charged the slide. He also appointed Koeman simply because he’s a big name in football. He appointed Steve Walsh as DOF who was a PE teacher-turned-scout at Leicester. These were all his decisions.
