The club is in shambles but it's still an opportunity to manage in the premier league and although a daunting task if they are able to take us from relegation struggles to midtable that would be perceived as a major accomplishment and build some serious cred in the football world (if we evade the drop)Let's be realistic, we have found our true level re manager.
What young, progressive, ambitious manager would come here at present?.
Maybe he just really doesn't rate a lot of the players
I'm more interested in the change of culture part tbh, to come back up either automatically or via the playoffs he is going to have to be a bit more willing to attack and take risks in games.
I mean McNeil has quite comfortably been our best player for ages now - it's not a high bar and doesn't mean he's great but dropping him at the moment would be one of the most bizarre decisions imaginable. Thinking both centre halves should be dropped is certainly a novel idea too, I don't think i've seen anyone else advocating that (for fairly obvious reasons). This is the type of weird criticism I was talking about earlier, it's very strange. There's one reason Keane, Tarkowski and McNeil are in the team every week - and it's nothing to do with their ability with a football.
It's entirely about Dyche's familiarity with them.
I think his name will still get him another gig with a premier league club or another top tier team despite how atrocious his record isThat is brutal, isn't it?! He's done as a top level manager, imo.
I don't think there are any Dyche aficionados are there? I'm the only person i've seen defending him in here today and i'm certainly not one. Here’s one for the Dyche aficionados to answer - even Lampard had Keane sussed and launched him out of the picture.
Also, i don’t get why fans can’t be wound up about his team selection and in game management.
We can be critical of the manager and not want him hung. I know there are massive issues at everton that have got nothing to do with Dyche, and there are clearly big issues we need to resolve, but if I feel he’s not affecting the things that he can control well or even adequately (team selection, tactics and subs) then I’m gonna say something.
I’d suggest that Coady has shown me plenty throughout his career to suggest he is a better player than Michael Keane. Yerry Mina has shown me MUCH more to suggest that he is a better player, albeit a complete crock and a liability fitness wise. So it’s not as if the manager doesn’t have options. As I said, find out how many individual mistake Coady made that led to goals, I can only think of the Anfield one myself.
The first half of the season under the worst manager in the league, we were better defensively than we have been under Dyche. Pretty much everyone was saying that our CB’s and Pickford were keeping us in games and earning us points on their own. It’s a complete rewriting of history to say that Coady has been terrible all season.
I think you're wallpapering over my thoughts with your own interpretation of what I think.I mean McNeil has quite comfortably been our best player for ages now - it's not a high bar and doesn't mean he's great but dropping him at the moment would be one of the most bizarre decisions imaginable. AbsolutelyNot throwing demarai gray on the other night will baffle me for a long time. His best moments generally in an Everton shirt have been when he has space to attack. You couldnt have got more space for him to attack than the other night. They were leaving gaps galore.
Take it account aswell him coming on and rubbing his old clubs noses in it.
To leave him on the bench was an awful call. But i think he doesnt like gray and i feel dyche has that in him. If he doesnt like a player thats that.
Logically we would get one from Threlfells top three choices. Same as we should’ve done with Brands, with Arteta and Potter. Basically the owner & the chairman should be nowhere near the manager selection. The team needs a manager. So who would you get in?
I don't think so. You specifically said there's only one reason he's picking McNeil and Tarkowski and it isn't their ability. I'm saying I think the huge majority of people would disagree with the idea that they're only in because of nepotism because McNeil has been our best player recently and Tarkowski has been an ever present all season (and while he's not amazing, I honestly don't think i've seen anyone saying he should be dropped). It's therefore a weird criticism to make.I think you're wallpapering over my thoughts with your own interpretation of what I think.
He clearly wants players he can trust, and Keane's performances have shown that to be irrespective of form on the pitch.
That's his prerogative, and I can understand it.
That you've moulded that into 'weird criticism' is entirely between you and your thoughts, I'm afraid.
A goal post is a better defender than Micheal Keane, comparable on levels of mobility and it actually has prevented goals from going in unlike keaneI’d suggest that Coady has shown me plenty throughout his career to suggest he is a better player than Michael Keane. Absolutely
Plus the fact he probably has a personal score to settle with leicester, no doubting his motivation to play well against them
Like I say, that's entirely your interpretation and you're entitled to it.I don't think so. You specifically said there's only one reason he's picking McNeil and Tarkowski.
