He keeps neglecting the centre of midfield which is the hub of the team. We have always enjoyed our best periods playing with a footballer in there, whether that's Gravesen, Fernandes for a spell, Arteta or Osman, even when Pienaar was occasionly played there, the team functions better. Heitinga and Neville at home to Bolton is ridiculous, I could accept one of them alongside someone like Osman, that would be fine, but together? It's no surprise the team played the way it did.

Until he sorts that area of the pitch out we are going to have similar problems. Throwing forward type players (Straq, Donovan) in various attacking positions isn't going to solve anything.

I genuinely don't think he sees it as central midfield, it's the front defence. You put them there to stop attacks before they get to your back four and hope the four players ahead of them will somehow win you the game. That's the only way I can understand it.

4th January and FIVE home defeats already.

Lowest Prem gate in history (are people seeing sense at last?).

Made Bolton look like Barca.

Bottom line is: nobody here is actually surprised.

Nil Satis Nisi Optimum?

Apathy is destroying Everton and the younger supporters who know no different have got to realise that Everton existed without Moyes.

Our squad needs sorting but we have no money to sort it.
If we sell baines, screech and jags we will more or less have a championship squad.
Under billy liar we will go down he is killing our club.

Our football this season has been the worst i can remember and both the manager and players can do better it is the board and chairman that has put us in this position.

Until the fans take off the i love bill specs we will continue to struggle.

I'm sorry but I still blame Moyes, heres why:

- He still put Heitinga and Neville in central midfield, when he could have started with Gueye on the left and Osman, Barkley or Bilayletdinov in the middle
- When Jags got injured he put the one none-fit player - Rodwell - on the pitch, forcing another sub 20 min. later.
- When the wind is so strong, you play the ball on the floor not hoofball
- Anichebe must have been burstling with confidence, yet Saha is played instead.

If Bolton can play the passing game, so can we. Problem is that Moyes cannot get us to do that.

hold your horses????.....we should let them free never to return that last night was utter crap

yes we had 3 injuries in the space of 15 mins and the weather was crap and we hav no money but when you hav a team coached as we do that is the performance you will get when the **** hits the fan ..........swirling high winds and we play long balls into the worst front 2 i can remember seeing at goodison
not one player ( they may not be tech gifted but they should hav experience) to put their foot on te ball ....givin away under no pressure

if it wasnt for howard the score would hav been much higher personally speaking the taxi has arrived for DM and he should take it

Yes the team played poor last night, but I think Moyes needs to take the biggest responsibility.
4-4-2 with Neville and Heitinga in the middle and we wonder why we didn't create anything. Osman should have played in there with one of them, with Billy or Gueye out wide.

Bringing Rodwell on when he is clearly not fit and who knows how long he will be out for.

For me that should be Saha's last chance, he cant' play as the lone striker but he was even worse with someone up there last night.

Great Dane....

Your points are all very fickle and weak!

Bar the playing football on the floor in the wind but you can't really say we didn't do that 1st half/ pre injuries.

Osman, Barkley, billy CM would not work, anichebe didn't have 45 mins in him never mind 90. And moyes was clearly angry with physio/ coaches regarding rodwell's injury.

Come on... He doesn't have the players he needs at his disposal. The sooner that is realized the better!

to what exactly because he coaches all the players the same... they have to fit into his system, now if your trying to say the reason that team last night couldnt pass to their teammates 20 yds away and the reason they looked like (other than howard) they couldnt give a toss is because he doesnt have the players at his disposal you need to remove your blue tinted glasses

I will you what, you post some crap.

The decision to include Rodwell and bring him on was a disgrace and that lays with the manager and coaching staff.

Look, I criticise Moyes as much as anyone, and he deserves a lot of it.

But you can't blame him for tonight. He was completely undermined by three injuries, played a fairly positive line-up considering what he usually plays.

At the end of the day, there were three players on the pitch at the end that wouldn't have been under normal circumstances. Donovan would have played 60 minutes, Stracqualursi not much more and Saha would probably have been withdrawn at some point too.

Mindless calling Moyes for all sorts when it's clear he wasn't to blame for what happened tonight is just stupid. It undermines the times you can have valid criticism of him.

You can't have your cake and eat it. He played 4-4-2, he started Donovan. That's what most fans wanted, and yes, the centre of midfield was still not ideal, but other than that, let's be realistic.

So, in short, stop having a melt and think about what happened.

Spot on!

How do you conclude Osman, Barkley or Billy in cm wouldn't work? Could we not have concluded Neville /Heitinga would not work based on actual evidence from the previous game?

I dunno how you can defend starting Neville & Heitinga in midfield and then bringing on an injured Rodwell, and he wonders why we don't score goals.
