Draw tonight for me I think, a win for either just feels like it cranks the pressure up on us a notch.
I disagree. A draw wouldn't be a disaster obvioulsy, but both would gain a point on us.

I've come to the conclusion that we need to make this about us and Leeds. Because if they lose their 4th in a row tonight with two more difficult games against B'mouth and City their spirit will be shot if we can get something out of Newcastle.

We just need to get out of the relegation zone one more time and we'll get out of it for good.

If any game was one to win, it was the Spurs game. They were dreadful against us, dreadful.
Well, when you're building a head of steam up against one of those teams in the final stages of a tight game you need all 11 on the pitch. And we were robbed of one for over half an hour.

There was a justifiable reaosn we got a draw rather than the win. The Forest game was the one the three points that got away from us.

32 games in, and theres only 3 teams who have won only 6 games. No coincidence it's the bottom 3. Newcastle is a tough game but so was Arsenal at home... we just have to start winning games at this point, no matter how tough the opponents are.
Thing is with the Arsenal game, we caught them on a good day, but the crowd was also fully behind the players, unless we get that on Thursday we have no chance

I wouldn't write off the Newcastle game as some appear to be. Crystal Palace were full steam into a new manager bounce until suddenly they weren't when the final whistle blew against us.
Palace's last games under Vierira were
Man Utd, Brighton, Brentford, Liverpool, Villa, Man City, Brighton and Arsenal
PV was sacked and Roy appointed and their next games were against
Leicester (under BR), Leeds and Southampton

I think the fixtures they had were a big reason for their poor run followed by their good run

Yes, I kind of meant upto the sending off. But yeah both games were winnable however still 2 points.

I tend to agree. If leeds lose tonight and concede a couple of goals again then they are in big trouble.

I also think Leicester with dean smith will more than likely grind out some results. I think honeymoon period is well and truly over with leeds and Garcia and it feels like it’s getting messy. They lose tonight and apart from Bournemouth away they have a worse run in than ours. Those last 4 games are horrid.

The crowd will be great on Thursday.

Potentially a last ever evening premier league game at goodison.
Gordon coming back
All the backs against the wall stuff against the board.
DCL and doucoure back

It’s perfect for us tbf. No excuses.

Everyone auto seems to be writing off Forest v Brighton and just forgetting about them, but they were very unlucky not to take at least a point at Liverpool - but they could pull of a win no one thinks as Brighton could be on a downer
Yes, but Liverpool were poor, and the only match you could give Forest a real chance of winning is v Southampton. That's not to say they won't get points in other matches, but they'll start underdogs in all of them.
Everton needs Leeds or Leicester to end the season badly, preferably both, but I think a Leeds loss v Leicester works
better for us.

Dave,

Believe what you want. For some reason, you seem more concerned with trying to have a pop at me or a pop at Villa than actually debating or discussing Everton's fight for relegation.

But as you said, Everton has 4 winnable games and 2 games for a draw left, maybe this thread should just be closed as it is unnecessary now
Surely there must be plenty of Villa forums for “fans” like you to go and rather than come on here and tell us which threads should and shouldn’t be closed? Is this the only thread you post in, or are there any others that you would like closed as well?
Would you even be posting on here if Everton were sat above Villa at the moment?
No. I just dont buy that you're a Villa supporter.

Lastly: if someone was posting as a Leicester/Leeds/ Forest fan I could get my head around you being here, but a Villa supporter wouldnt give a flying one.

It's up to others to judge you. I've done that and I think you're bogus. I know who I think you support.
Weird isn’t it, the obsession of a Villa “fan” (?) posting on an Everton forum in the relegation thread! Yet apparently doesn’t share the benefit of his relegation expertise and knowledge with the forums of Leeds, Leicester, Forest and Southampton!

It was the same with that "Arsenal" fella the other day. These lads probably turn up at funeral homes and mooch about the open coffins of people they never knew, just to get high on the grief of strangers.
It’s bizarre, wonder if they sat they sit there condescendingly typing away while wearing their half and half scarves?
Cannot get my head around it at all!

If Leeds win and we lose to Leicester then it really is goodnight from us. It would be a monumental mountain to climb and we would be totally reliant on one of those clubs not winning again this season.

I'm not confident of a win this Thursday either.

Yes Leeds win is worst scenario by far.

Gets them out of their bad run, stops their GD becoming even worse and they're on 32 points so grind out a draw at Bournemouth and they're arguably one more win from safety.

Lose tonight and I genuinely don't think them sacking Gracia is out of the question as their bounce under him will have totally evaporated since being 1-0 up against Palace after 44 minutes.

Leicester will be feeling confident on home games now. Win two of them and get something at Fulham and that should be enough regardless of tonight although I think they'll get at least a draw if Maddison is available.

If these two draw and we somehow win vs Newcastle we leapfrog them both remember. A win for either of them doesn't help us.
