Watched the new documentary on the Essex boys this weekend. Seen the story and read it about 2 thousand times but it always intrigues me.

Listened to a few pods over the years with ex gangsters who are 100% confident the wrong people are behind bars.

Yeah it can be great just taking that risk on a show, where no reviews or Knowledge of where the storyline is heading can find you the best shows, I find that a lot with random foreign series that you might get drawn too, but overall you will fail more then succeed just jumping on any old series...
than again you will know that pretty quickly anyway so you can just move straight on.

I watch more foreign subtitled shows than English language these days. Not too many I've jibbed off 20 minutes in or anything either tbh.

Yeah I think with foreign series ( aswell as moving away from the whole Hollywood effect ) your enticed straight away by the different cultures and how Different even a possibly same storyline can play out. there is something that feels more real and gripping which they seem to aim at in there stories.
Also you obviously have the subtitles ( to which some people are put off by ) but it just comes natural after a while, and obviously it grabs hold of every piece of your attention. Tho that can depend on certain language's, as some just speak so fast that your eyes can't keep up with the subs let alone what your meant to be watching.

Not having the whole hollywood plots that seem to involve boring family storylines that take up half the time is good. Also helps that I have 2 young kids (6&3) that make hearing the tv impossible when I'm allowed some time to watch it lol. I watched an episode of succession yesterday arvo that took about 3 hours having to rewind it constantly to hear it over their fighting
