If we stay up, I would only offer him 2 years on £70k pw maximum, if we go down, we have to try to unload him. He's a grafter, but, there is nothing about his game that says ' here is a £100k pw footballer.

I do genuinely think he was excellent in that role last season, finally putting his physicality to proper use.

It was like the position forced him to get involved. Now he's back to being able to hide on the periphery whenever he doesn't fancy it.
We had the slowest, least mobile midfield in the league. Against that backdrop, the fact he can move quicker than a snail and has more stamina than an asthmatic chain smoker, did mean he excelled and brought something we didn’t have in the middle of the pitch.

An excellent centre midfielder though, no, never. We’ve looked a lot better with the midfield three of Onana, Gana and Doucoure.

doesn't seem confident we will stay up which is allegedly why he is delaying signing the new contract so why should he be starting games then?
He's one of the prime reasons we might go down. I wouldn't be confident of staying up either if I knew he was in the team.

He either performs, keeps playing and in the shop window should he want a move.
Or he drops off, is bencher and end up in the Dutch league.
