Me too.
I've read various articles and it seems there's an agreement along the lines of this conclusion in one of the papers:
'For the soccer specific skills and test with ball, most studies reported that there was no significant negative effects of the fasting month on performance when the training load was maintained or slightly reduced during the Ramadan. Conclusions: The continuance of training during Ramadan fasting, with maintained training load, has no negative effects on short-term maximal performances and soccer specific skills and test with ball. However, performances of the 30-s Wingate test, the RSE tasks, and the long-duration incremental and non-incremental exercises were significantly impaired during Ramadan fasting even when the training load was maintained.'
As others have said, we're not the only PL club with fasting players. However, we are particulalry vulnerable to ill-effects from this fasting because our entire CM are doing this.
It's a concern for me. There's no use burying our heads in the sand over it, but I suppose it's also true to say that maybe it's one fixture in the 4 we have while Ramadan is on that appears to place our players in a particularly vulnerable position: the Spurs game which KO at 8pm and finishes at 10pm. Imagine getting through that game having not eaten after midnight or drank since sunrise at about 6am.
