I think in this instance the GD is a good barometer of where teams are likely to finish

12 Leicester -9
13 Leeds -9
14 West Ham -10
15 Crystal Palace -13
16 Everton -18
17 Wolves -19
18 Southampton -23
19 Forest -27
20 Bournemouth -29

In my mind it will not be too far away from this but ultimately bottom 3 will be Bournemouth, Forest and Southampton
I get the same bottom 3.....

Palace 38
Wolves 38
Everton 37
Leicester 36
West Ham 35
Leeds 35

Forest 31
Southampton 31
Bournemouth 29

Forest losing late and us getting a point late is the big story of the weekend.....
The story is probably Leeds getting a big away win at a rival, and Wolves getting sucked right back in while imploding with 2 red cards, with 2 x 3 game bans incoming.

No one has as yet been able to get the couple of results needed to pull away. And everytime a team looks like being left behind at the bottom, they find a result. I think the only explanation is that there are no terrible teams this year but lots of really average ones.

Is VAR also being used to keep it "Interesting"?

If we had won at Forest, rightly given a penalty, we would also be 12th...

The points needed will be higher this year because there just isn’t 3 awful teams. The trajectory of the bottom 8 is just shy of 1 pt per game. If that continues then a side will be relegated with 36 points.

Apparently we have had something like 13 different scorers this season - behind only a handful of sides.

If only one of them was in double figures...

Going by something i just checked and counted We are down as 13

Arsenal + Chelsea + Leeds 14
Spurs 13
Man Utd + Newcastle + Leicester + Fulham 12
Liverpool + West Ham + Wolves 11
Man City + Forest +Saints + Brighton 10
Crystal Palace + Brentford + Aston Villa 9
Bournemouth 8

It is depressingly difficult to pull away from the bottom once down there. Since Dyche came in we have secured 11 points from 8 games which is creditable but we remain just two points from the drop. I am more than hopeful we can stay up but we will be in the mix right until the end I imagine, which is not pleasant. One thing is certain, if we persevered with Lampard we would have been dead and buried
You need 2 wins in a row to make a significant leap
