You think we need 41 points to survive?
It would see us safe. So tight down there. I think Forest are in rapid decline but others in the mix, us included are getting points here and there unexpectedly. Who knows. After Burnley last year we were down for sure but look what transpired.

There's no indication that we will go on a remarkable away game winning run. We'll play every game with either Simms or with no striker at all playing with will make a hard fought out draw most likely against poor teams. We have the ability to win away, but it hasn't been seen for an awfully long time. I'd be happy with 5 more away points personally.
I think we have looked more dangerous away since Dyche arrived. We really should have beat Forest and we drew with Chelsea and scored twice in both games. I think we could pick up a win somewhere.

It's going down to the wire, anyone from 12th down. Could be 3 or 4 teams in the mix on the last day. Exciting just hope we're safe by then.

I'm more confident than this time last season, because the team is doing it themselves. Looking like there is some character there.

It is depressingly difficult to pull away from the bottom once down there. Since Dyche came in we have secured 11 points from 8 games which is creditable but we remain just two points from the drop. I am more than hopeful we can stay up but we will be in the mix right until the end I imagine, which is not pleasant. One thing is certain, if we persevered with Lampard we would have been dead and buried

Goal difference is going to be key, after today we stay on -18, our rivals look as follows

Southampton (3-3) = -23
Bournemouth (0-3) = -29
West Ham (N/G) = -10
Leicester (1-1) = -9
Forest (1-2) = -27
Leeds (4-2) = -9
Wolves (2-4) = -19
Palace (Tom) = -13
I think in this instance the GD is a good barometer of where teams are likely to finish

12 Leicester -9
13 Leeds -9
14 West Ham -10
15 Crystal Palace -13
16 Everton -18
17 Wolves -19
18 Southampton -23
19 Forest -27
20 Bournemouth -29

In my mind it will not be too far away from this but ultimately bottom 3 will be Bournemouth, Forest and Southampton

On a more positive outlook - if we win our next 2-3 and some results go our way we can potentially go up to 12th or something, which is mad.

The table will be very different by the time we next play - Fixtures are Forest/Wolves, West Ham/Soton, Leicester/Palace.

Could be a key weekend to see who gets left in the crap.
I think the amount of points to stay up will be higher this season judging by the way teams at the bottom seem to be picking up points most weeks, I dont 34/35 points will cut it this season, probably more like 38 to 40.

That’s not how it works. If two teams are cut adrift the points tally for 18th is likely to be higher. If everyone is picking up points against each other then the points tally for 18th is obviously going to be lower than if everyone was beating the same one or two teams.

I`ve got Palace losing today and our next game is 2 weeks away, it really cant be underestimated how big a win v Spurs would be...

Why isnt it, they arent just taking points off each other they are also taking points against the other 11 teams in the league

I think leeds will have enough goals in them to stay up personally.

I agree with the logic that with it being so tight that the points markw ill be lower because teams willbe taking points off each other quite a bit. With no teams being certain goners, there's no extra points putting teams into that 12-13 safe spot.
