Just did it in powerpoint using cut-n-paste from avatar photos and then adding in the colored yarn...I'm actually not very good at photoshop and all those editing programs, but I was happy with how this came out. I didn't have a plan going in but obviously knew Davek had to be at the top--the others I just picked from the most popular and/or recognizable avatar photos.
