That's the only drawback that lack of a striker. It was despicable what that owner and board did in the January window. Just for that they should be chased out of town. This is a 145 year old institution and one of the great sporting clubs of the world never mind England, and those chimpanzees should never have been let near it.

The rest of the group we're in - from Forest down - will take this new course of ours VERY seriously if we beat Villa next week.

Dyche is a massive factor in our chances to stay up. He said midweek that the goals will have to come from across the team and we saw that today with chances for two of the central midfielders, 2 CBs, LB and the goal from the RB....oh, and the forward.

Plenty of teams have adapted before and we have the quality and strength in numbers to do that in the last 15 games...and you never know, we may even get a few goals out of the forwards we do have...Calvert-Lewin included.
Agree hopefully can get more luck with injuries, agree with you is no way back for this board. With dcl back aswell could give us the choice to play both him and maupay. Another tough game but is massive we have it at home

….this looks familiar, except it’s from the Leeds forum not ours. it’s a dreadful time for all fans of clubs down at the bottom, our views are replicated by others but we need to stay focused on accumulating points whilst others don’t. It’s a cut throat situation;

God, if he's that angry now, just wait till he realises they've only only got 15 games left !!!

But but but they played dead well against United last week and had shots??

One thing Leeds do have is ability to get some decent results on the road. In last three months they got the draw at Old Trafford, dug out a 0-0 at Newcastle and also won at RS (only team so far to win at the swamp) just before the world cup break. They were s*** today but sometimes do overperform on the road relative to their ability.

They need whoever takes over to get them going at Elland Road as winning only one home game since August is very poor. They've still got home games v Forest, Leicester, Palace and the big one next week v Southampton so need to be winning a few of those otherwise it becomes a very difficult task for them.

I was thinking this earlier.

I dont think coaches are going to be willingly going to PL clubs in and around the bottom 3 now. Leeds have gone from talk of Poch/Tuchel to Harry Redknapp had a mention! Why risk your reputation? You can do a Bielsa and revisit in the summer.

I think some managers went, because they had the promise of January funds and the World Cup break, but both of those have gone now.

We got lucky with Dyche. The moment we got him, had a load of West Ham mates gutted we got him, and said to me we would now stay up. It's funny how other people view things.

To answer your question, if another side got Dyche, or Allardyce I'd be unhappy, as it would give them a great chance to survive. I hope someone appoints Jesse Marsch.
wouldn't be surprised if he ended up back at Leeds..

Under Dyche we normally played well against United. You will roll Fulham over by just being really physical. We just used to shithouse them. Chelsea are not great currently and we always gave them a game so don't write that off.

If he can get you through this season, he will build you a stable team before you move to the new stadium.

From what I remember you had a much better record v those sides away than at Turf Moor. Pretty sure you were unbeaten at Old Trafford in four seasons but they usually won comfortably at Turf Moor.

Big issue is can he be the one to install some resilience and threat on the counter in away games as that's been lacking in last 18 months and imo will still present the biggest problem to staying up. I can certainly see another five away defeats simply due to lack of a scoring threat.

Villa getting Emery in when they did was excellent for them. 13 points of a possible 18 in his first 6 games has pretty much saved them.

Hopefully Dyche can do similar and get results vs villa and forest in the next 3 as the run of games vs Chelsea, spurs, man united and then Fulham is going to be a tough few weeks.
God, that run of fixtures has just brought me crashing back down to earth 🙄

He was really good at getting on the right side of 1-0 but said the margins were tight. You will end up mid table if he does that with you. He won't let players turn their back when they are expecting the ball to smack them, even in the face. Tarks knows that and will throw himself at anything and everything even though it is going to hurt. Coady gives me the impression he will be doing the same.

We are currently in the relegation zone with only maupay and simms our only fit strikers to choose from who have a combined career total of 1 goal for Everton in the league. If we don’t get relegated then Dyche may well be the greatest manager in the world.
I'm erring towards that view, absolutely.

What a stunning job he's done so far.

Regardless of those 3 points, that attacking display was pathetic and I still put us odds-on for relegation. It was only ever going to take a miracle goal or fluke to win that, and genuinely no other teams will play as poorly against us.

We could have scored 4 or 5 so no idea where this take has come from
Could yes, but as usual we proved utterly woeful in front of goal. Doesn't appear that will change any time soon. So even if we have those chances next week we'll likely not convert them again. We could get luckier off corners mind you, great save by Meslier off Tarkowski. But efforts by Mykolenko, McNeil, Doucouré, Maupay and Onana were laughable.

If we hadn't have fluked that Coleman goal we'd likely all be virtually accepting relegation today.

Dyche best be drilling it into them that it's just nowhere good enough in the final third and that they need to improve dramatically and immediately.

To think that was probably our on-paper easiest fixture now gone and we only just about dragged it over the line - extremely concerning.

A couple of away draws against United should have been wins really. We had some success against Spurs at home. Arsenal seemed to scab wins with decisions, particularly away. You are a bigger club with a decent media profile so I would expect a fairer response from referees on the whole.

I wouldn't write off away games completely. With the poor squad available, he's going to play a low block and hope to nick it from a set piece. First goal is everything though. He needs to find a target up front that he can build off, does not have to be a big unit either. Gray and Ings ran channels and brought people into play that way. The Liverpool break for the first was so familiar from last season. We got done like that when playing well quite often. It is a bit of a system error. Only saw brief highlights but saw a slight tweak in CDM positioning for the Tarky chance.

Without James Ward-Prowse I genuinely reckon that Southampton would already be done for. Just goes to show you the effect that a talisman can have on an otherwise poor side..
