The irony of blaming outsiders for the problems within a community.

Bigotry is alive and well in every village, town and city regardless of traditional political leanings or perceived values.
Something has happened for that reaction tho lets see what comes out

Undoubtedly something is perceived to have happened and may well have happened. But I think it's very unlikely that everybody living in that hotel is a part of what happened and as such seeing a baying mob and burning police vehicles outside the window must be pretty horrific for many there.

My point is that the stock response of instantly blaming 'out of towners' has a certain irony given the history of various political factions looking to vilify 'outsider' scapegoats such as immigrants for societies ills rather than looking at themselves and facing uncomfortable truths.

There will be plenty of them aye, but there's also plenty of locals too. Knowsley/Kirkby does have Labour/left-wing ties, the strongest Labour voting seat in the country, but can't deny there are some incredibly racist and disgusting views seeping around the place

Stuff around the hotel has been boiling for a while. The video shared on Facebook/Twitter the other day has kicked it off, its been coming

Apparently the lad in question has been arrested, but that won't stop people just being openly racist about the rest of the folks in there - of which there are plenty of young families

Yep, plenty of occasions of occupants from the hotel harassing young school girls around the area.

They should be dealt with but it shouldn't have been an excuse for far right to do this.

Hotel occupancy is 200, let's say 10% so only 20 of them are sex pests. Would you want that in your area?

Sounds like the perfect storm.

The far right know how easy it is to froth up anger by accusing people the don't like of being paedophiles.
Video surfaces showing a man with a foreign accent allegedly propositioning a school girl.
Someone spreads the rumour that the man lives in an asylum hotel with zero evidence.
Someone else says "loads of stuff like that happening there!" Also with no evidence.
Group turn up to 'protect the kids'
Locals go full Tony Bellew "'ang de nonces, lad"
Local north face scalls turn up to join in the kick off.

Sounds about right to me.

People of Kirby are quite close nit if something has happened to one of their own they might bite, rumors might not be true but can you blame them
