It explains why we never sign players because Everton didn't understand that the basic rule of signing players was to contact the selling club and make a verbal offer.
Or maybe if they make a verbal offer, then the selling club respond via email saying yes you can buy him for 25m, Everton then respond back and say "no, we verbally agreed on 23m so unless you now agree via email to our verbal agreement, we won't be buying him".
