The Everton Board Thread

Not defending these arrogant cretins on the board, keep in mind a lot things will be written and spoken about that are not necessarily true. The club is a mess and a lot of media/attention seekers will take advantage of that mate.

They deserve exactly what they get. But I will guarantee you now friendly, journalists and ex players will be getting briefed as we speak...

i’ve said for ages not assed about the new ground when the club is a joke

and im
right

This is the Evertonian attitude mate which is why we are in the position we are in. In two years Kenwright would have been gone, Moshiri would have been gone. We may have been in the championship or a lower level PL club, but with every step we are making it more difficult for a badly run club to be able to do anything and all that means is we accelerate our decline and keep Moshiri longer as we devalue the club to the point all avenues close for him to get out.

That stadium is the only thing that can put us back on our feet, yet you are turning your nose up at it? What on Earth do you think will happen to us if it doesn't go ahead?

I’m talking about transfers and manager candidates. People coming up with all kinds of nonsense for views and attention Just thinking of fellow blues and not getting too wound up over possible made up stuff.

Sod the board mate , I’m glad more people are seeing them for what they are. Finally.

…..I’m not alone in thinking the Benitez appointment was the catalyst for the current demise.

More specifically & a major subset to the Benitez appointment was the loss of Marcel Brands. Celebrated by many on here, I just wonder if him leaving has had a massive impact on the club.

Sure, l know there was criticism for the likes of Klaassen & letting the DoF role be railroaded by others but I had the feeling he was the one who held the Crazy House together. Popular with both Board factions, respected by players and working with Managers until Benitez forced him out. He had the diplomacy of a statesman to work around the conflict.

It was still a Crazy House but Brands exit might well be why it’s falling apart.
I agree with you @Eggs
Always seemed to me like he was the only adult in the room.
Why Moshiri hired that Kopite and then let him strip all creative elements of the squad and bring in the no marks he wanted is beyond me.

It's just a guess at this point, but I think if Brands was allowed to do his job without interference from the owner and board, we wouldn't be in such dire shape right now.

how can a stadium “put us back on our feet?

it will be half empty we would not run it proper in a lower league

we have a team fit for the bin

“players” let’s sign for everton they have a boss ground even if they’re crap

ffs mate

That ground makes us a potential target for a decent takeover. Just why we got investment in the first place, build a new stadium, increase revenues, be able to compete.

Now say that stadium gets knocked down before we even play in it, apart from being the laughing stock of the world (more than we are now), do you think anyone would want to touch a club where so much money was lost by an owner who was building a decent (miles better than Kirkby and King Power etc.) on the docks where supporters really wanted it to be and yet we turned on him helping make the brand so toxic it went to shhh. How can you spend big if you've seen the results already? The stadium is the one changeable factor between us now and any different future.

The players come and go, in 7/8 years we may not even have 1 player in the first team now. That can be turned around, what can't be turned around is not getting that stadium, you think relegation would be the final nail, you are wrong. You'd happily be turning us into Portsmouth if you couldn't care less if it goes ahead or not.
