The statement said they were “instructed” not to attend, not being arguementive - just curious as to what makes you think the Feds didn’t advise to stay away? Just a lack of trust?
That’s a good point.

The word ‘instructed’ suggests police involvement.

It's all ifs and buts.

One thing is for certain though: if we dont get some unity and changes to the manager and playing staff we'll be relegated.

The exact same position as we were in last season. This board thrives off this sort of short term thinking, it’s how they managed to get away with it last year. Enough is enough, the long term concerns simply have to be addressed or we’re just going to go around in circles every single season.

You might be all for sinking the boat to get rid of a bad captain but I'm not.

That's just self harm.

Have Everton really done this?

This headlock “story” is all over the web. Nearly all major news outlets are running it. It came from “a club source”.

Everton FC show some evidence!

Or admit it never happened and apologise for such disgraceful spreading of fake news at a very bad time for the club.
Fat chance, the story will have a life of its own...all good for the Club, all bad for Us.
They won't say a richard bird, why should they?
Mud sticks, no smoke without fire...especially anti scouser mud and smoke

Let's just try an build a timeline to this shall we.

12:25pm - 5Live start to report on statement - they go to Juliette Ferrington at Goodison who is reporting on the game. At 12:27 (skip to 27 minutes in broadcast), Juliette Ferrington states, "I understand her car was spat at and jostled, so fans were trying to physically move the car after she was trying to leave after that Brighton game, she was in the car her husband. There was some very sexualised and misogynistic language used towards her."

She makes absolutely no reference to DBB being "physically manhandled by a male" - despite this surely being the more serious of the events that occurred out of the two. Surely that would have been the major talking point instead the broadcast chats about the statement for a moment then going back to talking about football in the Championship.

12:49pm - Julitte Ferrington tweets what she has just said on the radio.

1:28pm - Joe Thomas / Liverpool Echo make report of DBB being put in headlock

2:45pm - Greg O'Keefe / David Ornstein / The Athletic ratify the story stating - "according to a club source who was asked not to be named for their safety."

And that's it. All from 'club sources' via effectively 3 journalists. Two of whom are well in with the clubs media team and David Prentice.
Good post mate.
Look a bit earlier in the week.
Open letter from the fans groups coming out at 9pm.
Club puts one out just before.
chairman pops up a out of nowhere, hasn't said a thing for months.
It's all good with the board and manager.
Fans have driven good managers out. First signs of the narrative turning.
Fans advisory board hold a meeting, three resign , and it comes out they have only met the board 3 times in a year.
Ex players join the fan letter, as do all the supporters clubs in the UK,
Not a word in the press .
A lad on another forum, used to be on here posts midweek get ready for the press to mobilise with ex players ,there had been a brief to them from the club to get into action.
Then we see the result.
Even if the headlock incident was true.
Why not just stay away from the ground , and release a statement today as to why they were not there
Instead of poring petrol on an already volatile situation.
On a morning of a very important match?
They did it because they wanted to continue with the fans are bad narrative that they had sown during the week.
Fans meet the coach, all good normal welcome, cry to arms,
look at Jim and Co as its going on Sky, it's pained as the fans are volatile and there is a Hugh police presence, last shot of lines of police.
They have miscalculated as normal, set the lines out now it's the board against the fans.
They will have the friends posting , about the darkest day in are history, physical attacks on players, no better than kopites ect same stuff in every post to make the fans look the villians.
it will not work they have got it so wrong.
The scally lads with the players were put of order, no excuse
But there is a bigger picture here.

The bigger picture is they have put the blame of the clubs performance squarely on the fans

This can never be forgotten or forgiven.
