Who should replace Frank Lampard?

The fact that most of the favourites for the job are previous managers or players is a testament to how badly we are run. Moyes, Martinez, Ferguson and Rooney. When Brighton lost Potter to Chelsea they didn’t appoint Glenn Murray, Newcastle didn’t appoint Alan Shearer again after sacking Bruce. It’s testament to the mess we’re in that we have such a narrow search. As someone else has said, Lampard was only the fans preferred choice for the job because Perreira was clearly barking mad. They were the 2 candidates. Awful from top to bottom in every aspect of running the club.
It's incredible that Evertonians always seem to reach for the stained comfort blanket of a former player or manager when things get tough. I mean, we had people openly canvassing for pigeon-bothering Duncan Ferguson over legendary serial winner Carlo Ancelotti back in 2020.

There's a world of managers out there. It's like we have a footballing Brexit mentality. Out of Europe - and staying out.

Would be nice if Potter gets booted if they get humped by City tomorrow. We might still go down but he’d put a long-term plan in place to get rid of all the wasters, promote youth and actually get us playing some footy. It was never going to work out for him at Chelsea.
Potter wouldn't touch us with a 50ft bargepole.

We are a club in terminal decline that will attract the unemployed.

Managers who can work with awful owners seems an important trait, and ones who can achieve on a budget of next to nothing. Dyche ran out of steam at the end but he may have been able to keep them up at the end, he sure tore us apart with his side not too long ago. I wish we could find a young and talented manager who isn't some premier league also-ran but I think that's impossible for this club.
Look at that squad he had at Burnley at the end
They had sold players for seasons
Had the likes of lennon and a few others , that only had contracts till the end of the season.
Still manged to beat us under super frank.
Dyche had the legs pulled from under him , by his board.
He is a far better manager than are current one.
Can't see him being the type are board will employ, but I would give him a chance.

Like most other people I haven’t got a clue who we go for now. It’s obvious now lampard is out of his depth, he’s getting pulled apart by every manager in this league tactically, including Gary O’Neil ffs!

Sacking him is just another admission of failure by this woefully inept board and owner and as everyone knows nothing substantial will change until they are all cleared out. The next manager will face the same issues we’ve got now with a squad severely lacking in quality and no money available. Feels like we’re only going in one direction and it’s inevitable now that no matter who we appoint we’re going down anyway, not because of lampard or who we replace him with, but for the years of gross mismanagement.

If the board dont back the manager then its all a moot point.

Tuchel and Pochettino could ask for the job...even Gallardo or Kompany.

But what happens when they look at out attacking options and are told theres no money for transfers?

Yea, this is the whole ball of wax aint it, its all just pointless without any backing.

Its a grim situation.

If the old guard at Chelsea were still there Id have expected something from them for Lampard.

He's clearly been tasked with building a new young side.

But to do that hes reliant on funds from the board and generated from sales.

Without either...how does anyone turn the forward players into an attacking threat...
