2022/23 Frank Lampard

Lampard has to do better than he has, even with this group of players. Soon as I saw the team sheet last night I feared the worst. Reversing out of the formation that got us a result at City plus the selection of Davies just looks like he and his coaching staff think they are cleverer than they actually are. I appreciate Onana and Gordon were out of his hands but for that performance at Goodison he should do the decent thing at a proud club currently on its knees and resign. I know he won't, none of them do...but I think a lot of us would respect him and wish him the best if he did. He's clearly out of ideas and his depth. God knows what that staff alongside him are doing. Joe Edwards is always in his ear and nothing he tells him seems to work!

Hardly, he’s got the board to blame for years of mismanagement. He can ask but it doesn’t change the financial position or the answer.

Over the last number of seasons people have bemoaned being constantly overrun in midfield, not even competitive. Gomes, Davies, Doucourre, Allan - he’d have been negligent to leave those guys in place just to go for an attacking midfielder. The entire starting midfield needed replaced and on a shoestring budget. We were losing targets like Gibbs-White to Nottingham Forest, that’s how weak our spending power is and ability to compete in the market.

Had to put his faith in the mercurial Iwobi becoming a consistent top attacking midfielder and that was never going to happen. Equally put faith in Gordon picking up the slack left by Richie and again was never going to happen. So I suppose he could take the blame for not sanctioning Gordon’s sale and pinning his hopes on Iwobi to create but given the scale of the challenge he faced in the summer, I’m not feeling like the finger is pointing at him so much as the board and Thelwell. They’ve allowed the squad to go into the season criminally underprepared and just left Lampard to try to pick up the pieces.
So when you look at yesterday's opponents, and you see players like Mitoma, Sarmiento, etc., what do you think?

He’s the worst manager in the league by a distance.

Granted he has inherited garbage but his signings are proving to be just as bad as what was there before.

Brightons second string could tear us to bits with three passes yesterday.

His in game management is quite possibly the worst I’ve ever seen. How that starting eleven came back out for the 2nd half is a mystery up there with how did they build the pyramids.

He throws a youngster on at 4 nil down into a toxic atmosphere, that’ll help his development Frank.

He needs to go and he needs to go today, as he should have went before the World Cup.

Even with him gone, the clowns at the top will not have anyone lined up to replace him and it will be another panic appointment yet again.

Our football club is a dead man walking, Lampard is just one part of the problem.

Said that during the game. You could see Patterson and McNeil constantly being caught out of position. McNeil was totally unaware of who was around him and several times there was a Brighton player on our right side with about 20 metres of space to run into. Sure enough, both come out for the second half and the game is over within minutes.

That's me done with defending him. If we can't get results at home we're buggered. I'm really disappointed as I want it to work and think we need stability but we are getting worse. No good getting a result away at City just to throw it away at home against a mid table side.

Could be his Watford moment that, gutted I am. I have to say though, i don't have faith in anyone being able to get us consistent, there's something not right behind the scenes that's hurting us time after time, 6 managers have been utterly woeful, we've changed a fair few personnel and still can't overcome the slide down.

Rubbish, utter rubbish, where do we go from here?
Championship unfortunately.

Maybe so, but he hasn't done himself any favours playing the same system of which no one is sure what the plan is

His record just cannot be excused.
Possibly but I really don’t know what system you could play that would make a difference. You can rearrange deck chairs on the Titanic, it’s still going to sink.

To me, at the start of the season I couldn’t really see how we were going to win a game with the players we had. If we stayed up it would be by the skin of our teeth and by being the lowest scorers in the league- basically staying in games and nicking the odd undeserved 1-0 win. Start of the season looked like we might be able to do that but it’s zero margin for error football and it’s tailed off.

His record is terrible but it’s not unexpected, to me at least. People can gnash their teeth and demand better but it’s not going to magically happen with the players we have.

The fact he still hasn't gone speaks volumes. Moshiri clearly doesn't care, Kenwright is a sentimental old sod who has zero clue about football, our DoF is either powerless or just as clueless as his superiors, we have no money, the fans are in an uproar, the players are all rubbish, it just feels like we finally have failed. I will still follow this club into the 2nd division but i cannot let them rule my life anymore, which I probably shouldn't have done in the first place.

I burst out laughing when I seen them all walk back out again. He should have reverted back to the city formation/team. How he saw no issues from that first half proves just how poor he actually is. Diabolical.

A system where we don't play a high line with two very aged CBs would be a start. Even if our squad is rubbish there are managers who get the best out of them, not make them actively worse.

Is that better or worse than a good 'divvy'?!?....... Answers on a [rhetorical postcard]

A divvy is a divvy.

You're moaning about people bringing politics into it, then antagonising people with the silly corbanesque shouts.

I agree keep politics out of it, but you don't have to be rude about it to people.

Some people it matters too. You're just coming across very contradictory

Have a good day.
