Who should replace Frank Lampard?

If we do get shut of Lampard...and there'll be a stampede for his dismissal after 5pm today....I'd be tempted to go in-house.

I cant stand him, but I wonder if someone like Baines could galvanise this team. He's not long out of it and he'd have the respect of players.

Going through another manager search would be damaging and expensive.

That really would be the last roll of the dice.

Player manager.

That’s great if we are looking at challenging the top 6. We aren’t. We are trying to stay in the division - one relegation in 25 years of management is not a proven failure in this regard.
I’m a fan of 42 years. Nah, “staying in the division” isn’t enough any more. As in ‘94, ‘98, and now again, we take staying in the league for granted and refuse to reform as a club. In this context, there will be less panic from the likes of me over relegation. We never learn from relegation fights. We may just need to learn the hardest possible lesson before we can ever seriously reform.

In summary, it might be our time to go down if it means we will stop looking to the past, to the likes of Moyes and Martinez. I’m past caring. Supporting Everton is like being in an abusive relationship - and even some of the abused fans have taken to abusing themselves.

So, get a Pochettino type, a nascent fresh face with a genuine record of achievement, or leave well alone.

Baines will be the caretaker I'd guess. No chance he gets the job.
