Who should replace Frank Lampard?

Here's what could happen: Moyes gets fired at West Ham, who decide he has been holding them back. They hire Scott Parker and are ultimately relegated. Rice and others are sold in a fire sale.

We hire Moyes, he begs for forgiveness and claims he is "coming home" after saying the exact same thing about West Ham. He turns things around and we finish midtable. He makes steady progress and we get back into Europe before getting into the following season's FA Cup final.

Moshiri fires him in rage after we lose 2-1 to Liverpool after leading at half-time, despite us pipping them to the post for Champions League qualification. He hires hot new managerial prospect Giovanni Incompoteni.

Moyes retires in disgrace. Bill has a fatal heart attack while announcing his best pal's departure in a tearful press conference.

We fall at the first hurdle by getting beaten by Celtic in the qualifiers. Incompoteni is fired midseason after a poor start, to be replaced by Sean Dyche. We scrape survival and knock about the lower mid-table positions for the next four years.

The End.

Pochettino won't come here, despite what he's hinted.
Of the rest on the list only Postacoglou & Bielsa are of the 'take no shiz' attitude  and they have half decent football brains
I wanted Bielsa when Ancelotti popped up, but I think he's done his Premier League stint at his age:eek:
All the rest on the list are bluffers, clowns, hasbeens or never will bees - and some fit more than one category

Can't argue with that.

But what keeps swimming in my head is that...Thirwell SHOULD be pulling the strings. He SHOULD have a list of players lined up for January regardless of who's in charge. The plus is that Lampard will have been involved in some way and will be closer to whatever the structure Thirwell has.

A new manager comes in will just be told to make this work better. Additionally any new manager SHOULD be under Thirwells charge.

If it's not... we'll have the same circus as the last time.
I agree with you also that constant changing off manages, means players not suited to those managers. I thought Lampard was a high press lots of energy type manager, but we just haven’t seen that. I let him last season as was needs must but he has brought in what 7-8 players this summer. Yet we still have no identity, we don’t press, we don’t keep possession, we don’t counter it’s just all over the place. With Kevin he should have as you said a list of players and also managers who fit those players Incase Lampard has to go. Yet unlikely lamp goes or we get the right manager in.

He is one of the worst managers we have had. His teams can't defend, his 1st season was based on Moyes back 4 in which he destroyed. The attacking flair is an absolute myth, playing 100 passes round the back 4 is not flair, its tedious. He had one of the best squads in the Belgium team and couldn't even get them to a final never mind winning something
These two narratives are so tedious.

His first season was based off signing Lukaku, Barry, McCarthy and Ged (to a lesser extent) along with blooding Stones and Barkley and making them regulars in the side. It was not based on an ageing defence and a ropey goalkeeper. McCarthy getting injured when he did started the downfall.

The Belgian squad was decent, there are loads of decent international sides though. Belgium are not some footballing backwater, they are the tenth most successful nation in world cup history. His Belgian team had some really good players, there were also some major flaws in that squad. He got them pretty much where they would expect to finish until this World Cup.

Martinez has more than enough rubbish to throw at him during his final year/year and a half at us that can be used to adequately show why he was sacked and why he isnt that good a manager without using the Moyes defence (which always let us down when it mattered) and Belgian being the best side ever (not even their best side ever) arguments.

Big picture nothing changed

Same board. Same owner. Same illogical and shambolic recruitment
These things wont change because the people who would make those changes are the people in question. It's not realistic to expect it to happen.

Either way we should be doing better than we are regardless.

Tony at Number 46 should replace Frank - with his mate Dave from the Swan and Tomato pub in Aintree as assistant.

Might as well, seeing as every manager since Moyes has just dug us deeper into the abyss.

Probably better than what will actually happen in the next four years.

Need to get a delegation going.
