Probably why I wouldn’t be quick to dismiss Dyche either. Howe and Dyche had very similar records with Bournemouth and Burnley respectively.

Dyche is the man for us, a good fit who ticks all the right boxes, he wants it too.

I don't disagree about the failure to strengthen the front line, however let's not forget that last year's major issues were a terrible defence and a woeful midfield.

We've partially dealt with that, but in doing so neglected the front line. Failing to do the latter, doesn't mean we weren't correct to address the former.

If we'd have thrown all our money on forwards, we'd have had a leaky defence and a midfield like Swiss cheese, which means we'd be in trouble like last year.

In reality, we need to find a balance - if we fix the front line, we may go some way to do doing that.

I think the defence first mentality is from a different era of football. We got it totally wrong and most of our fanbase got it wrong too

We need to be all over either of em. Give Poch assurances of funds next summer and of the long term plan when BMD opens etc and let him rebuild the club.

Rafael was a good manager who was doing a good jbo for us, some fans shamfully were on his case from day one, they are the reason we are in this mess, we should of given him the support he deserved, as i said even undr the circumstances he was doing a better job then Frank.

Problem is that half the fanbase think Calvert Lewin is some sort of elite striker up there with the top lads in Europe and the rest of the fans don't rate him and we have chosen to put all of eggs in that basket. Then you add in Gordon who just isn't very good if we are honest (he didn't save our season last year despite what the happy clappers say) and Gray who is possibly the most frustrating football player I think I have ever seen.

Given that Everton are also a circus act, it would make sense in a Bill Kenwright Productions kind of way.

I suspect his critical comments last year about how he was sold in 2004 might play against him however...
