I told you all along that there were more than 3 worse teams than us and we wouldn't go down and guess what?
So no, being confident and positive I never believed we were in a battle just as I think it's far too early for you guys to stick your tenon pants and start a relegation thread in July, pathetic.

We were in a battle though. And we are this season.

If you say so.

I think there is still time for us to make sure we are not in one come March/April. Too hard to call right now though, less than half the season gone and it's so tightly packed from like 8th and below. We could be as high as 10th one week then down to 16th another. 7 points from the next 3 home games and we probably are sleeping easier for a few weeks.

Will we? Won't we? In just over 5 weeks we should pretty much have our answer.

Bottom 3 following a poor window and our goose is cooked.

I'm looking for 20 points by end of Southampton match.

Two wins out of Wolves, Brighton, Southampton goodison games.

It's looking very bleak if that dosen't happen tbh as likes of Wolves and Southampton are generally this squad's bread and butter 3 point games but they both have new managers so they could get the usual bounce.

After that it's a run of very tough away games so going to be stuck in the bottom 3.

If it was so wrong and bedwetty to start a relegation thread in July then this thread would be closed by now, as it happens it’s still open and on 211 pages. So the bedwetters were once again right as they were last season.
The title of the thread is relegation and we didn't get relegated last season so how was that right? and by the way 200 of those pages are your posts.
Have a good Christmas Mike but I hope you don't get an electric blanket as a present, it may prove fatal?

The issue is I think the club could have avoided relegation even being a question this season by getting one forward of quality in the window. The fact we didn't and thereby shot ourselves in the spot again ad we did with Benitez last summer, now places emphasis on Lamps and the coaching team turning it around in the last six weeks on the training pitch and on the window of us acquiring players who come in and make a instant impact, it's all a gamble. I hope the break has been positive but we are still relying on a forward coming in and making an impact.

If you say so.

Went into that Chelsea home game five points adrift of 17th. There were only 6 games left at that point.

Was a minor miracle the form was so good after that safety was wrapped up before the final day. Even at half time of the Palace game Burnley were ahead in the live table as they were winning 0-1 at Villa Park.

It was very fine margins and much of credit has to go to Richarlison for some fantastic games played in that spell so that's a big issue here, no player of his quality to drag team over the line unless someone with those qualities is tempted in January.

Pickford as much as Richey saved the day

I disagree. In many of the games that DCL has been available we have been poor in as well. The management is the problem for me. Twice we played Bournemouth before the break and we put better players on the pitch than they did and both times got a hiding. That's poor management in my book.

It's all well and good blaming the players but it's the managers job to get the players up and ready for the fight and playing in a system which gets the best out of them. This isn't being done.
