TV Series

Just a very simple but clever premise that has been very well executed. It’s not trying to be something beyond its means, like a lot of these kinda things do. I dunno how it can maintain this in later series though.

Not read anything about it and I'm up to ep9 now, but it seems to me like the sort of idea that should be one season and that's it

Yeah I agree. I have hopes they have a properly scripted idea of where things will go instead of a rough plan fleshed out.
Westworld is a prime example of a show that would have been a stand alone great but got worse with every episode after the 1st series.

Finished - 1899.

Some good and some bad.

The good - well acted / good cast, apart from the CGI, the sets are good, as is the attention to detail, some really good scenes - the passengers jumping over board, being one.

The bad - tries too hard to be Dark and fails, too many threads going on with, too many different people, it sometimes feels flat in parts and wanders, which makes you switch off.

Not bad, could`ve been better, they shouldn`t do another one.

Having just finished a Marathon of All the episodes of Breaking Bad, and having previously done the same thing with The Wire, what would you recommend for my next Tellyathon ?

I remember hearing The Shield mentioned so that looks to be a contender, not so sure about Dexter ? Does it not all get a bit 'same same' like CSI ?

Anyway, answers on a Post please.
Doc Martin?
