“Europeans should be apologising for their history…”

What nonsense whataboutism.

Europeans continually apologise for their history and we’re infested with self-loathing cretins who can’t tell the difference between today and 100 years ago.

I, as a Briton, have nothing to apologise for.

So, back on point to Qatar please, Infantino.
Really?

I'm 57 years old and can't recall hearing any apologies from Europeans about their history.

On the other hand, I've heard plenty of apologists.

plemty of govts have- blair for slave trade and the part of the Irish famine ect. William Hague Apologised to Kenya.
The problem is that it doesn’t carry huge amount of weight, quickly forgotten amongst other noises.
History is rarely positive for any nation. Do we need to judge people today from our ancestors? Only the real idiots hold grudges against Germany and Japan.

Hardly 'continually apologising'

Not saying we need to be judged on our ancestors' behaviour. Just that I hear far more people who feel proud of their history and reference 'great' periods, which happen to be back when the worst atrocities were committed.

I personally feel neither ashamed nor proud to be British as I didn't contribute to any of the good or the bad.

Now I need to apologise for dragging this off topic. Sorry.

@Jamiednm made a valid reference to the idiotic, apologist rant of Infantino. And I jumped on a specific phrase. Despite the fact that I agree with his general point.

My only excuse is that the cat woke me up far too early this morning.
