Don't know how long it wasc since you finished first series but if its more than a few weeks make sure you watch the final two episodes then start on the second series immediately. It's well worth it.

Deep into season 2 now. They have gone in a different direction here with the focus being on a new story and set of characters. I understand it starts to get really good in season 3

After finishing Better Call Saul I was looking for my next “ oldie series” so started “ Boardwalk Empire” . My youngest son recommended it a few years ago but I never got into it . I’m three episodes in now , I can see the potential with the likes of Steve Buscemi and Stephen Graham , but still not sure. So what’s the GOT verdict , stick with it or dump?

If you`re after an old one but a good one, you can`t go wrong with the Shield.

Stick with it definitely. I’m on a re-watch myself on Season 4. Never got to see the final season before so that’ll be new to me.

It's a bit up and down, but worth sticking to the end

I always try and watch Series 1 of True Detective, at least once a year and I still never get bored with it.

Remains the all time great tv Detective drama ( imo ) and I can`t see it ever being beaten.

Nothing comes close to it.

The acting in that first season was fantastic. Great writing to match too.

The seasons after we’re always on a slippery slope because of how superb that first season was.
