TV Series

Miles better. Mandalorian only looks better because of how trash the others were. It was enjoyable but insanely repetitive. Thought I was playing an RPG game.

true, and I think the cop-out that is reversing what happened in the last episode of the second season will ruin it - thats where IMHO that storyline should have ended

I'll still watch another season but Andor has set the benchmark for any future spin-offs. Funnily though, they never miss when it's animated, Bad Batch and the new Jedi one are belting.

Here is the full dialogue from that wonderful scene at the end of last nights "Andor" episode, quite brilliantly delivered by Stellan Skarsgard.

"Calm.
Kindness.
Kinship.
Love.
I've given up all chance at inner peace.
I've made my mind a sunless space.
I share my dreams with ghosts.
I wake up every day to an equation I wrote 15 years ago from which there's only one conclusion: I'm damned for what I do.
My anger, my ego, my unwillingness to yield, my eagerness to fight, they've set me on a path from which there is no escape.
I yearned to be a savior against injustice without contemplating the cost and by the time I looked down there was no longer any ground beneath my feet.
What is my sacrifice?
I'm condemned to use the tools of my enemy to defeat them.
I burn my decency for someone else's future.
I burn my life to make a sunrise that I know I'll never see.
And the ego that started this fight will never have a mirror or an audience or the light of gratitude.
So what do I sacrifice?
Everything!
You'll stay with me, Lonni.
I need all the heroes I can get."

Perfect!

Andor is easily the best live action thing to come from Star Wars since the orignal trilogy by a massive margin.

I honestly can't say enough good things about it. Its amazing. If it wasn't for the lack of aliens (which is a basic staple of the franchise and I'll never understand the lack of them in this) it would be absolutely perfect.
from interview with the creator:

The one odd nitpick that I’ve seen has to do with the number of aliens, which is funny since episode ten has a bunch of them in the background. [Director] Toby Haynes actually told me that you wanted that sort of thing to be in the fabric of the series, not the foreground. So how would you describe your rationale?

There’s already so much politics in the show to begin with, and we’re trying to tell an adventure story, really. So adding strong alien characters means that all of a sudden, there’s a whole bunch of new issues that we have to deal with that I don’t really understand that well or I just couldn’t think of a way to bake them into what we’re doing. You’ll see more as we go along, but it’s a legit question and one we’ll be answering as we go along. There is a more human-centric side of the story and the politics of it. There’s certainly no aliens working for the Empire, so that kind of tips it one way, automatically

Finding Mandalorian 2nd season a real dull slog. Is it even considered decent? Are the last episodes worth holding on for in regards to the overall story?
Is terrible in my opinion. Need to go to a planet, land on the planet, find the person or thing you need straight away, get involved in some sort of local feud, win, fly to next planet.
Is made for kids.

Oddly really enjoying The White Lotus at the moment. Very much in the category of Wifes TV but I'm hooked on the second season.
Struggling with The Sandman - (3 episodes to go) Can be either entertaining or Dull. Very Hot/Cold
Need to watch Enola Holmes and The Crown (s5)
I'm a Celebrity is on just to see some suffering before I go to bed.

That’s it basically. I am trying to figure out why I enjoyed the first season
Think they ran out of ideas and just fleshed out a half arsed show.
Think all Star Wars had been pretty terrible since the originals apart from a couple of decent moments here and there. Some of the lads on here are raving about Andor but I’m not gonna bother with it.

I'll get a watch of it but a few other series to get out of the way first.

honestly get it watched, one of the best shows of the year.
after watching the rubbish they have produced you need to get a reward for sitting through all that.
