Tbf to Pickford he's actually playing great this year, the silly part is that our supporters largely think this is how he always plays and most certainly is not. I'd be thrilled if he became the good version full time but we're only 7 games into this season.
There's this weird thing going on where we want our players to be England players but we say we don't because often they aren't and Scouse not English or something. And then when they are we're all fired up to defend them. It happened with Baines for awhile too. I'm not a psychologist though so I can't explain it.
Well, yes. It tells you all you need to know about the opposition.I don't want to defend England as they were very poor. But were it not for 3 brain farts, they probably would've won that match by a fair margin
I take back everything positive I've said about Germany recently. They won't do anything in QatarWell, yes. It tells you all you need to know about the opposition.
Well, they are Germany so, you know, "never underestimate the Germans" and all that, but, no, these are not "the Germans" as we usually know them. I live here in Berlin and am looking forward to them bombing out in the group. The complacency and prioritising of "style" over substance in German football has turned me right off them in the last decade. I thought Flick might sort them out for Euro 2024, but there is nothing to suggest they will do anything else in Qatar than be eliminated after a Thilo Kehrer blunder and Timo Werner open goal miss.I take back everything positive I've said about Germany recently. When was the last time he was a pundit on British TV?
Haha yeah I live in Frankfurt. I love it when they do badly. Also I thought Flick would fix them but they've been quite poor.Well, they are Germany so, you know, "never underestimate the Germans" and all that, but, no, these are not "the Germans" as we usually know them. Put simply, they don't have the players - and they think what they have is way better than it actually is. Japan could be a massive wake-up call, but it'll be too late then with Spain next...
Hamann and Klinsmann often get wheeled out tooWho did they bring on last time we played Germany?

Nah, both don't have the players.I’m convinced there’s a few tournament winners who find their team midway through tournaments. There’s not many that cruise through qualifiers, start with their 11 in the first group game and then just crush it immediately all the way to the end with the same team.
I remember the France team in 2006 looked absolutely abysmal and we’re getting slaughtered. They brought in Zidane and Ribery and were a shoot out away from winning it.
Both England and Germany will be dangerous if they get into the knockout stages because it only takes a manager to stumble on a decent line up and formation and both are good enough to win.
Nope! Are you always this thick? JP has been great for the best part of 18 months to 2 years
Well I don't give a poo about England and the keeper was poor for my club for awhile and has always been up and down. You’ll literally have any poundshop bang average English keeper over your own clubs goalie who hasn’t put a foot wrong for England and is currently in a very long run of good form for Everton. There’s something wrong with that. Henderson, Pope, Ramsdale, they can’t even match Pickford’s PL form let alone not get embarrassed whenever they play for England yet you’ve been championing them all over Pickford.
Nah, both don't have the players.
England doesn't have the midfield to control games at that level and Germany don't have the defenders or forwards.
A best XI from both would go close. Two flawed teams.
