Blue Lou

Player Valuation: £750k
NFA spokesman Demola Olajire said: "His statement is insultive to the Nigerian nation and unbecoming of a Premiership manager.

"We dont take kindly to snide remarks about our players, or our nation and we will be lodging a strongly-worded complaint to the English FA to sanction him."

Two more Nigerians, Ahmed Abdulrahman and Fatai Amoo (yes they are their real names) have also moved quickly to criticise Moyes.

"It was a racist comment, If Yakubu was Brazilian or European, would he have called it Brazilian or European age?” Abdulrahman said.

Amoo, apparently stunned by Moyes comment, said: "I want to believe he was joking. John Terry made a similar remark when John Mikel Obi celebrated his 20th birthday too."

Oh no get a grip........whats the problam. Would it be racist if he had said all the dutch look like old men(VDM etc). No so stop playing the race card!!! sick of this [Poor language removed].

Maybe if your country was'nt so corrupt, we would know the true age of certin players.

Amokatchi was about 40 was'nt he, an leeds were done on the yaboa deal. So fukk off Yakubu looks about 35.....so what, its not racist.

So less of the bollocks about football in england. An try to help the poor people in your country to live a decent an normal life. An not at the mercey of a fukkin corrupt goverment. That uses the economy as a personal bank balance.......:rant::rant::rant:

if they're refering to it as a joke, then he should just say he wasn't joking, in his opinion he looks older, we are allowed opinions in this democracy that we live in, never heard of anyone getting called racist for taking the piss out of scottish goalkeepers. next time you get an irish coffee lads remember.... it could be offensive to the irish after all it could be construed that you are suggesting that the irish like a drink !!
here's a new word for the nigerian f.a. ---------GARN
as in GARN FACK YERSELVES.

If they're so insulted then why don't they / or didn't they report John Terry ? Their attempts to label DM as a racist are quite frankly pathetic and bordering on paranoia, [Poor language removed] whoppers.

"The purpose of this letter is to lay complaint against the Manager of English Premiership club, Everton FC, Mr David Moyes who was widely quoted by the world media on Thursday 21st February 2008 as suggesting that his Nigerian striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni is above the age he presents.

"On a night that Aiyegbeni scored a hat-trick to become the first Everton player to score a hat-trick in Europe in 23 years, Mr. Moyes said, inter alia: "What people don't appreciate is that he's only 25, albeit a Nigerian 25, and so if that is his age he's still got a good few years ahead of him.

"This statement is an unambiguous insult on a whole nation, and the biggest black nation in the world for that matter, and we demand an unreserved apology from the said Mr. Moyes.

"Mr. Moyes' statement is capable of not only exposing our player, Yakubu Aiyegbeni to ridicule but also capable of reducing his market value as a professional footballer and at the same time, capable of undermining the bargaining power of other Nigerian professional players.

"We demand also that Mr. Moyes must be expressly cautioned for insinuating that a civilized nation encourages age cheating, and he should find a way to return to the world media and decry his own statement."

The letter was signed by Secretary General, Bolaji Ojo-Oba.

They've got a serious chip on their shoulders, in fact, make that a sack of [Poor language removed] spuds ! Will they demand action against the Fonejacker next ?

They have every right to take it serious though - because they know its true.

They have a serious problem, something they wouldn't want highlighting.

It's just distracting from their own problems. They put on an appalling display, sacked their useless manager and are now trying to whip up something so that they don't have to answer for their own shortcomings as an FA.

Storm in a teacup.

lets give all their [Poor language removed] an airing, ban them from competing, don't need to lose key players mi season in 2 years time for cup of nations....Everton come out of it better off ;)

let them put their hands in their pockets to have martins, yak, obi mikel, and whomever else tested to account for their medically proven age.

Not racist at all. And even if the Nigerians wanted to lay a charge against Moyes, I fail to see how he can be accused of suggesting that it is inherent within those who share the genetic make-up of most Nigerians, that they are somehow predisposed to lying about their. age. The best charge they could make is that Moyes believes that a culture exists in Nigeria, whereby people tell fibs about their age. And even if that could be proved, it wouldn't be wrong if it really is the case that a significant number of people in Nigeria have a tendency to want to claim they are younger than they really are. It's like saying it is sexist to claim that women sometimes lie about their age. We all know that some do, but it doesn't make us women-haters to admit that truth. Anyway, who cares. Moyesie is many things, not all of them good, but he's not a racist.
