.......the signs aren't good if he was returned because Sheff Wed didn't feel he was good enough, but it's all about opinion and confidence so lets hope a change of scene brings a change of fortune.

Sold to Bury for an undisclosed fee.

Hallam Hope is set to join Bury on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee.

The Everton Academy graduate has been on loan at the Shakers since November – his second temporary spell at Gigg Lane – but will move to David Flitcroft’s side on a full time basis on 4 January.

The striker has agreed a deal that will keep him at the League Two club until the summer of 2018.

Hope has made seven league and cup appearances for Bury this season, while also taking in a short spell at Championship side Sheffield Wednesday.

In the 2013/14 season, he managed five goals in eight appearances for the Shakers, netting a hat-trick against Portsmouth.

The young striker was snapped up by the Blues as an 11-year-old from Manchester City in 2005 and progressed through the levels, helping the Under-18s to the national academy title in 2011.

An England Under-17 and Under-19 international, Hope will now have the opportunity to progress his career under Flitcroft in League Two.
