Baines is the best Left Back in the league, Garbutt wasnt even the best LB in League One.

But Garbutt has shown he is quality, good driving forward, can whip a brilliant ball in, especially from corners, not bad defensively, Baines is nothing special defensively by the way. Giving Baines competition and rest might make him better. His corners don't get past the first man anymore and he hasn't done much in recent weeks to warrant an automatic place in the side.

Our width will then come from Coleman/Baines. Barry can drop back and make it a back 3 if needed. McCarthy and Besic can be the engine and Barkley can roam. Play a potentially world-class striker upfront with a former world-class striker. Lukaku needs the ball played in front, he needs to be on the last defenders shoulder. Eto'o can come short if needed. This also gives Barkley the opportunity to run with the ball.

Haha, I know.. but to be fair I'm sure most of these assists or chances created were earlier in the season. I'm not suggesting he gets put out in the cold altogether, just give Garbutt a chance and it might give him a kick up the hoop.
