He said that Eto'o is a waste at Everton and should have held out for a move to Anfield.

Haha, you're a bad man !

Not sure why people are getting their knickers in a twist about this. Of all the "prominent" ex-RS pundits, Lawrenson is the most useless, but he made a fair point about that half yard of pace. If Eto'o was a bit closer to his prime then he probably wouldn't be playing for us. To be fair, if Eto'o was playing for Liverpool then the prat would have kept his mouth shut but heh, quelle surprise and all that.

Just rejoice in the fact that we have Samuel Eto'o in a Blue shirt. He's not far off the pace he played at at his peak and with the skills he has, he's not exactly reliant on pace anyway. I'm sure we had a few people doubting his age in the Eto'o thread as well. Big deal.

I'm filing this under NEA

Mind you, on the way home tonight, Michael Owen ( deluded washed up fool that he is ) was on Talksport saying he thought Balotelli and Lambert would score more goals this season than Lukaku and Eto'o ... ffs !

You mean he said he hoped they would. Surely.

No mate, he reckoned we'd massively overpaid for Lukaku and thought Eto'o at Burnley was a flash in the pan.
Lee Catermole was on as well and he basically agreed with everything Owen said.

The 'officially 33' remark is borderline offensive/racist, playing on the old stereotype of Africans lying about their ages and doctoring their birth certificates to stay in this country.

The 'top top club' stuff is the usual passive aggressive slight against Everton that predominately ex-LFC pundits have been making about us (usually on the BBC) for years.

Not much different to what people often say on here about our players though.

Pienaar and Mirallas to name but two i can think of, people have said that if they could just improve on their weaknesses they'd be top quality players. But if they did they more than likely wouldn't be playing here.
