Team vs Krasnodar

dear me lad, our squad should be capable of beating them anyway. We're not losing coleman, barkley or rom anytime soon unless we finish 12th or lower - which we won't. People need to stop being so negative about losing our players. We don't need to sell, and they're all happy here. Unless someone comes and bids 40/50 mil, they'll be here. Whats the point in travelling to Russia if we're not prepared to go and win the game? I personally would make a few changes, but keep some first teasers on the bench. Eto'o isn't exactly a bad option to have as a second choice forward

You do realise trips to Russia are notoriously difficult regardless of who you play? Man city struggled against CSKA away, zenit have pumped a good few stronger sides at home as have Krasnador who have dicked a full strength real sociedad 3-1.

Regardless it's a tough match and if you don't use your squad you suffer. Makes me laugh blues have moaned all summer we didn't have a squad to cope with Europe and when we do the same blues moan about playing a near full strength side out away in the sticks before a vital away game sunday!

Top 4 is very achievable this season, Utd are hopeless at the back, spurs and the RS look no better than us it's more achievable than last season with the SAS fluking it we can't sacrifice league form it would be suicidal especially with the money we would lose from lower league finishes. That was one of the factors that knackered us up last time when we had them few barren European less years under moyes.

Win lose or draw this was always the toughest match and regardless we will qualify providing our defence doesn't go to crap

End of the day we finish mid table in the league and you can kiss goodbye to rom, ross and coleman etc. Sadly we need to maintain a top 7 at worst finish preferably top 6. We can't afford to go 5 points behind Utd and possibly spurs, RS etc. By having a jet lagged side face the likes of Di Maria, Falcao, RVP etc.

Even if we lose Krasnador we will snot them at goodison as we will lille and theirs good chances we can get 3 points at both the remaining away games. The likes of wolfsburg and lille will also drop points away at russia make no mistake about that this is the match we can afford to drop points in

You seriously think that if we finish midtable we will automatically lose our best players?.... :O

No but it's a downward spiral, the top players want to be European football and if you think otherwise your deluded. Martinez said himself European football was vital in keeping Rom as is it vital in attracting top players. We ain't United who can throw our brand name or 150k a week contracts at Di Maria, Falcao etc. We have to remain competitive.

Top 4 is very achievable and we need to at least be aiming for top 6. Krasnador away regardless of who we play is very tough to get a result at due to the travel/jet leg/temperature etc. We play the likes of lukaku, Mccarthy, Jagielka, baines etc. then you can kiss goodbye to a result at old Trafford. The time we get back from Russia we will have about 2 days at most before Utd, factor in jet lag and the likes of Di Maria, Falcao, RVP, Mata and Herrera etc. Will rip a jet lagged, energy sapped side apart.

A loss at OT means likely a 5 point gap between us and them, the RS, spurs etc. Or even a 10 point gap between us and Southampton. It leaves us with a massive mountain to climb with the likes of mirallas and Barkley out injured top 4/6 should always be our aim not just for Europe next season but with the money that comes with it and the attraction of higher calibre of playes it brings and the carrot to try keep your better players with.

We played our toughest group opponent and pumped them 4-1, Krasnador will also take points off the other 2 at home as will they in reverse to Krasnador at their home grounds. We are very strong to qualify regardless of Thursdays result.

I would say your way of thinking is a downward and negative spiral. Enjoy it.

You've plenty of company on here too.

To me it's an insult to Coleman to suggest he would jump ship as soon as we have a poor season.

It will be a half strong team but Martinez will very much have one eye on the United game on Sunday.

I wouldn't be surprised if we got beat twice this week.

Think we will do united and draw in russia mate, jras may see a draw against us as a decent point given the first round of results, united are worse than us at the back, especially if colemans back and stones starts, think jags will be back to his best as his confidence will sky rocket now

We need to keep the confidence up on two fronts. By all means use the squad for thursday - but don't throw the game away. I'd start Jags, Eto'o and McGeady. Distin/Alcaraz plus Browning and Garbutt. Oviedo to be given another run-out with Gibbo, Osman and Besic in midfield. Have Nessi and McCarthy in reserve. Atsu and Kone to come off the bench. Leave Stones, Coleman, Pienaar, Baines, Barry and Rom at home. Kev's the biggest miss for united - he'd have destroyed that shoite defence. Absolutely gutted.

theirs a big difference between travelling to play in France and Germany than it is some outskirt part of Russia! It's one of the biggest journeys in world football to make im all for a strong side away to lille or wolfsburg but you HAVE to use your squad when it comes to an away game in russia 3 days before playing a top 4 rival mate its fighting on 2 fronts.

No one has said coleman will jump ship but if arsenal come in with a offer for example having European football is much more likely to keep him than not having It. Same way having European football is more likely to land us a better calibre of signing ala Rom than it is without it ala jelavic

i think united will score past us though - we just need to attack them and get at that crap defence. That's why Kev will be such a big miss for us. McGeady seems to do everything right until he actually has to run at a player. Then he fluffs his lines. Wish we'd have been ably to bring Del back this summer - his pace gave us another dimension when we needed it.

Somebody called @EverBlue86 just said Coleman would jump ship. If you search their comments you will find it there somewhere.

I never said "next season" sorry lad your being pedantic and totally deluded if you think not having European football puts you at a higher risk of losing your best players/attracting higher calibre of players

Certainly sounds like you are saying that sir.

Robles

Browning Alcaraz Distin Garbutt

Gibson Besic

Atsu Osman Oviedo
Eto'o

Subs : Stanek, Galloway, Ledson, Naismith, Long, McAleny, Kone.

That being said I think Martinez will play a much stronger team.

Allegedly Coleman was given to the last second to be considered fit for the derby, he wasn't, so wasn't risked.

That'll be ready for a run in Russia then.

Osman didn't get a look, so he'll start.

Oviedo got a run in the CC. Expect at least 45 minutes.

Outside bet, we get to see Kone for 45 minutes.

Gibson will feature.

Now fill in the blanks.

????
Coleman ???? Distin ????
???? Osman Gibson Oviedo
???? Kone
