We have 6 players to cover the 3 positions behind Lukaku with Deulofeu looking likely to come back.

Johnson isn't needed.

Talk up in the North East is we are signing Adam Johnson.
He's certainly got ability and if Martinez could get the best out of him more consistently I think he'd be a good signing. Can see it happening to be honest, mainly because the Sunderland will want to offload high earners, he wouldn't cost too much and we're the best club he could hope to move to.

One of the reasons we've been getting results recently is because of the quality attacking players Martinez can bring off the bench. We have Mirallas pienaar and mcgeady for the wide positions. We don't know if deulofeu or lukaku will be here next season. Adam Johnson would be a very good addition IMO.

I've wanted us to sign Johnson since he was at City. In the right set up and with the right manager he could be fantastic.

Agree their mate, Pienaar could be moved on in the summer honestly maybe back home to SA or the States etc, Osman and Naismith are not the types Martinez wants in wide roles really, plus Ozzie is on his last legs really.

Means assuming we get Dele back on loan we have, Mirralas, McGeady and Delefeou as wide men, all 3 of whom can also play dropped off, importantly we need at least one additional - more likely 2 with having European games with a bit of creativity out wide or dropped off, Johnson would be one of those sorted for a very reasonable price if the S'land go down, guessing around 5-6m or so

Aye mate, but after all his varied injuries i honestly think he's entering the last chance saloon with us this coming season like, has to show he can stay healthy for the majority of a campaign like or else he will get moved on.

Doesn't matter that when fit he is quality, can't have a integral part of the squad who cannot stay healthy

He is only 26 ya know, he's no 30 plus year old who's crocked and on his way to knackers yard. Just look at Peter Reid when we had him!

Gibbo will be given time to recover and get as fit as poss and im sure Martinez will love having him amongst the squad. As silly as it sounds, doing his ACL whilst playing for Ireland could be a blessing in disguise for him as before he kept getting played with niggling little injuries before and wasnt really allowed to get fully fit but that injury means he as to!.

He is still one of the best passes of the ball in the squad and Martinez will want to keep players like that, cos lets be honest, when fit he's a really good player!

Micah Richards leaving City on a free in the summer.

Good cover at the back and to bulk up a European squad or swerve like a swervey thing on a banana going round a roundabout?

I'd take Micah Richards all day long. Got good energy, he's a big lad, good in the air, got pace and can play either RB or CB. Thing is could he stay fit enough to make a good, solid contribution through out the season?

For free is worth taking definitely!

Not arguing he has a place mate still, but he has to show he can stay fit next year, a third season in a row greatly missing with injury will effectively finish his everton career, here's hoping your right about the acl being a chance to get his other niggles finally sorted and he pushes himself back on to have a big part to play.

I am doubtful though, but hope i am wrong

linked with Vietto from racing club today. Beast on FM, no idea what hes like in real life. 6mil or thereabouts.

If you look him up on google there's stories about him and that he's highly regarded in Argentina and at Racing Club.

They think he's going to be a big player for the national side for years to come in the future. Got a bit of everything, can run with the ball, he's creative, got a goal in him, technically very good, good at set pieces, can play upfront or anywhere along the 3 attacking midfield spots, for £6m he'd be a snip IMO, the type of young signing we should be looking at cos there's alot of potential in Vietto, same as his team mate Bruno Zuculini!
