MOSCOW (AP) -- Fans of two-time defending Russian champion Zenit St. Petersburg are calling for non-white and gay players to be excluded from the team, another sign of the racism that is plaguing the country that will host the World Cup in 2018.

Im obviously quite new to this forum but I've posted a lot on another and I am and have been anti-racist , I find it and the whole bnp rubbish just that rubbish and pathetic. I had a relationship with a mixed race girl, well a few really but one who I actually cared about and I found seeing racism directly in relation to her very eye opening .

I'm not saying all of the above in some 'I've got black mates type ' way I just want to put into context what I'm posting . The zenit statement is clearly pathetic , insulting and offensive but for footy fans in England to hammer a country that is clearly decades behind us in this field when we haven't got to look so far back to see some chants we'd regularly experience at football matches (not least at everton) is a bit 'of a cheek' .There is a massive debate to be had across Europe (particularly Spain & eastern Europe) and those people need to be educated and when appropriate punished for the kind of things we saw in the Serbia U21 game but having travelled (like I'm sure many/most people) to the likes of Russia they are obviously still more than 20-30 years behind us and all I mean is our own history isn't clear of such racist crap
