Z Cars not ours.

I had an argument with a rather obtuse Watford fan about this very topic a few years ago.

I jokingly suggested that The Hornets, in using Z-Cars, were trying to imitate EFC. He angrily retorted that the tune was from an old Hertfordshire rhyme and that EFC had no right to use it. I then responded by showing him an article on my phone which confirmed that the Z-Cars tune was based on the traditional Liverpool folk song "Johnny Todd", which was about a Scouse sailor.

His reply? "Why are you lot using a tune from Liverpool? I thought you lot hated that city and its team."

At that point I just gave up!

Thought Z-Cars was an Everton thing? Well it's not. After casually watching MOTD I realised Watford use it too. This may not be a surprise to some of you more knowledgeable folk.

But they don't just use it: they own it.

This video is proof:

This matter has been in discussion before. It is a shame. But mainly theirs because we used it first.
