Ive been 3 times now, each time since 2009. One of my main memories is first time down there, against United. Stopped off in JJ Moons with my Dad which was absolutely bouncing and saw all the boys from my local pub, had a fair few to drink and then strolled down to the ground. Its this bit that I remember so vividly. All you could see was Blue, nothing else anywhere, I truly dont remember seeing a single red shirt, I turned around to take in the view and I saw, what looked like the tallest structure in the whole of NE London, and sitting proudly on the top, was an Everton flag. I have no idea who put it there, or how the hell they got it up there, but at that moment, I felt like Everton owned the planet and there was no way we was going to lose it.

.....66 was my first experience but not a particularly memorable one. We had a couple of season tickets so I played school footy every Saturday morning and went the match in the afternoon. We had family in Croydon so went down for the weekend, my dad sorted a couple of the relatives out with tickets but it meant me missing out. I went down there but watched on telly.

I didn't think too much of it back then but I would never let my own kids miss an opportunity to go to a Cup Final and I can't understand how my dad decided not to take me. Fortunately I've been to most occasions since but had to wait until 84 to see us finally lift the Cup.

I was born in 1980, earliest memory was my are fella telling me on the day of the 84 final that my Mum wouldn't let me go the game as I was too young but promised to get me a season ticket the following season which he did. I went to most of the following Wembley matches RS & UTd. The worst day was the Zenith Data Systems game against Palace which was shocking. However best day out was 1995 I was 15 and will take that day to my grave for many many reasons, my Nan had died a few weeks earlier but had made me a foil covered cardboard FA Cup so I'm convinced still that brought some good luck. The other was when Rideout scored I ended up losing my Dad and all our mates crowd surfed when we scored it was immense!!! Ive been to the new Wembley and have to say I was impressed, but it was the gutless display against the RS, but I did enjoy all the banter on the day, I emigrated to Brighton a few years ago and that day I couldn't sleep so got the first train and was in London by 8am. First few people I saw at station in London were Evertonians and I've met them at quit a few London away days since purely by chance! If we get through and play the RS in this final I won't be going mainly because I cant cope with the heartache. The only thing I will say regarding this League Cup run is that there are similarities to 1995 when we were written off in the Semi and the Final which is what is happening about playing City. Fingers crossed.

Never went to the old Wembley, been the new one 3 times, semi and final in 09 and the semi in 12.

The 09 semi as one of the best days of my life. Id been out for my mates 21st the night before, so was rough as hell anyway, and it was so damn hot that day. I just remember being a bag of nerves all day long and feeling like I was going to throw up at any given moment. Blues absolutely everywhere. Even though we had go the train from Wigan and there were a few Mancs on it, I barely saw a United fan all day, we were just everywhere.

That noise when they started playing Z Cars before kick off, Ive never known an atmosphere like it. It was a pretty dire game, but the noise from our end was incredible. I took this picture after the game.

How empty the United end is, the players have long gone, and we're all still there going barmy. Doesnt get any better, since Ive never actually been there to see us win anything...

The final, bloody hell, I thought it was hot the day of the semi! Im pretty sure I got heatstroke on the final day, because I can remember hardly anything! Fortunately, I can remember when Saha scored...what a moment...got myself a nasty big gash and bruise down my leg from all the celebrations. Typical I seem to get my worst goal celebration injuries for goals that it turns out didnt matter! Only other thing I remember was how many Chelsea fans were outside gloating after we lost. I actually couldnt believe it, because we'd stayed fairly late, had watched them pick up the cup, then left when they were celebrating, so basically Chelsea fans had left...while the team were still on the pitch celebrating.

Then there was 2012...what a vile horrible day. The kick off time was horrific, as was actually getting a train down there. We ended up getting a London Midland from Crewe, which takes about 3 hours, but is dirt cheap and wasnt sold out, so we had to get to Crewe at about 5am. Despite us and Liverpool being a set of rivals who can actually share a drink with each other without fighting, the pubs around Wembley were stupidly strict, refused to let us mix, charging people to get in, and confiscating beer bought in off licenses, so the atmosphere of the day was awful too. Then once we got in, the nerves were too much. I knew exactly what was coming, so had already resigned myself to getting beat so it wouldnt hurt when it happened. Then Jevalic scored to get me all hopeful didnt he? Then we were so comfortably in control werent we, so Im there dreaming of the final. Then Distin struck. Then that utter donkey scoring with his tail at the death...worst day of my life. And then a 3 hour train journey on a train full of them just to get back to Crewe. I was supposed to be going the pub with my mates that night, none of them interested in football, but one of them had a boyfriend who was a red. I texted a mate and told them I wouldnt be coming out, and she asked why. I pointed out that the mate with the Kopite boyfriend was the ultimate bandwagon jumper and despite the fact she knows nothing about football, she would think it accceptable to latch onto that and goad me and Id end up punching her in the face. The friend Id texted messaged me later that night to tell me that she'd asked where I was and they were hoping to have a laugh at me, so I guess I was right!

I also went in 2013 when Wigan beat Man City. Front row of the top tier, and right behind Ben Watson's header...amazing moment. So interesting that Ive already seen Martinez, Kone, McCarthy and Robles lift a Cup at Wembley!

.....was there in '68 and '84. Can't remember the exact dates but in '85 my daughter was born on 1st May but almost immediately I was off in a mini bus with mates to Amsterdam/Rotterdam for the Cup Winners Cup Final. Rather than come home we decided to go straight to Wembley for the Cup Final, getting off the ferry and staying in Clacton for a few nights.

Whiteside's goal was fantastic but we'd have won the treble if it had gone to a replay, I'm convinced of that. Mrs Eggs still reminds our daughter that I wasn't around much for the first week of her life because of Everton but she totally understands.

Oh my, just remembered I've been one other time - when my dad played in the final of the Umbro Cup in 1995, a veterans tournament played before the FA Trophy final. He'd kill me for forgetting!
