Mine's sitting in a high chair watching an Everton game on a black and white telly in my ma's & da's in Thornton chucking baby food about and shouting 'Hardy! Hardy!' (had a bit of a thang for Colin Harvey it seems).

Anyone got any more interesting first Everton mammories?

Losing 2 0 at home to Blackburn. 1st Jan 1997 when I was 7. Still got my wooly hat with the 'ears' sticking up at the top. Looking at it right now. Got the white horizontal slash over the second E.

1969, home against the Arse. 0-0. But my memory is my uncle making a banner for me, which was totally ruined cos it pi##ed down from the car to the game. Also, first time I heard the word "f###"

watching the '89 cup final with me nana...i was 10. i asked her "who you're supporting, nana?". she said "the red team, of course!". so i said "well, i'll support the blue team then."

never looked back...mccall's goals and the pulsating match got me hooked...joined the fan club and devoured the history...everton had well and truly found me.

...and the friendly rivalry with me nana persists to this day :)

That's pretty much the first game I can remember watching live too.

March 1974. H v Brum. Won 4-1 Big Bob with 2. I loved him from that day to this.
The smell, you all KNOW the smell, walking up to the ground, hot dogs, horse sh1t and ciggies with the odd dash of booze.
The people, so many people, all wearing blue like me.
Dad's mates rubbing my head for luck in the tramways pre match.
The noise, wow the noise! near scared the life out of this wide eyed 4 yr old. It got louder, much much louder!!
Being carried back to the car on my dads shoulders, uncles friends and grandad patting my back telling me I was a good luck charm.
38 long long years ago.
Still feels like it was yesterday.

Harry Catterick in the Cup final in '68. I remember nowt about the game ( I was 6 ffs ) but, for some reason, I have a memory of Cattericks' face after the game. tbh, I'm not sure if we even had a telly so it could be a memory from Pathe News or something from years after the game.
