lukaku. Top striker, best signing we will make in a long time.

yakubu- a top goal scorer horribly treated by moyes.

ferguson. pips Andrei slightly because he became a boyhood hero
 

I've only been following the team for about 5 years, but reading up on the history it seems the 3000 pounds paid for Dixie "don't rub 'em, count 'em" Dean was pretty good, even by 1925 standards. Seems to amount to about 60,000 pounds these days

And John Stones...bargain of the century.

Good shout on KC, legend in my eyes.

If i had to pick three from recent times i would go for Jags, Lescott and Kevin Campbell.

Jags and Lescott mainly because no one else was really looking at them and both were fantastic, ok it went sour with Lescott but at the time i thought it was a great signing. Three English players as well.

Lescot - dodgy knees, but we took a chance and it worked out.

Jags, hopeless when he first arrived and genuinely thought he wouldn't cut it. Happily proved wrong.

Super Kev - saved us from relegation and made it acceptable for not white players to sign. Most important player as result in recent times imo.
