Long time ago this, but was stood in the Gwladys one match the season Rush returned from Juventus to the RS and couldn't score in a brothel (probably 88/89 season as that was the only season I had an ST for the Street. Of course he found his scoring boots in time for the final at the end of that season).

Anyway, a group of lads started this song to the tune of "Maggie May" (not the Rod Stewart one) "Ian Ian Rush, he's back from Ju-ven-tus, and he'll never score at Anfield any more. And we all think it's funny, that Rushie took the money, he'll never score at Anfield any more". Anyway that was the chorus, but these lads had only gone and put together full verses, mocking everything RS, and that great Scouse combination of wit and all-round sharpness. It was a really dull game, and they kept it going for about 20 minutes. Must've been a great Friday night down the local.

Villa fans in response to Citeh fans singing "Going down, going down going down"

"Whats it like, whats it like, whats it like?"

Made me chuckle that.

I love Joe Royle but I always thought the Stockport County chant against his City team was one of the better efforts

(To Lord of the Dance)
Joe Royle
There's nothing you can do
You're going down to Division 2
You won't win a cup
And you won't win a shield
You're next derby's Macclesfield

I also like the Jimmy Jeffries song by the Hibs fans

And of course, the eternal awesomeness of
Tony,
Tony, Tony
Tony, Tony
Tony,
Tony Hibbert!

Loving that new 'bobby brown shoes babe' and ' allez oh' chants. Forever Everton. 80's 'and we love our Neville Southall'. We're the pride of merseyside. Duncan had a pigeon. Who needs Cantona? Fa cup 'we're on the march' and we shall not be moved. Best little spaniard we know. Love em all

One I haven't heard for a while but absolutely loved as it was so direct and to-the-point. To be sung at teams likely to suffer relegation:

YOU'RE ****
AND YOU'RE GOING DOWN
<repeat to fade>

Allez allez allez ohh
We shall not be moved
Everton oh we love Everton
Here we go (the full 80's version)
Never felt more like singing the blues
