Push them right back so they can't press us

Come on mate, that's quite patronising that.

Anyway, I'd like to see something like @bluegirl suggested in my '2 up front' thread, ie. a diamond system.

Robles

Baines
Jags
Stones
Coleman

Besic

Naismith
Mirallas

Barkley

Lukaku
Kone

Or something like that, with whoever is fit.
Looks nice Groucho. But we had better score at least 2 or 3 to win as I can see us conceding again playing an attacking format with 2 strikers ;)

I get your point about getting up an at em as that will get the crowd up....I just think Pulis will expect that and if we don't get reward for our efforts things will follow a familiar pattern.

To catch Pulis how about we sit back, defend our 18 yard box let them have the ball a bit more and play on the counter.

Or I may have entered a parallel universe

Indeed you have.

One where Pulis is a tactical guru and his c.v. contains the names of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

Instead of Stoke, Palace and Baggies :p

Think we need an early goal in this one to settle the nerves. The longer is goes on at 0-0 the more nervous we'll get...

Joel
Coleman Jagielka Stones Baines
Barkley Besic
Oviedo Naismith Mirallas
Lukaku

Subs: Griffths, Alcaraz, Garbutt, Barry, Kone, McAleny, Pienaar.

I agree with Pulis' comments but right now I'm in panic mode. I really really can't see us getting relegated or being in the scrap come the end of the season but right now we are in it and we need results.

The thing that worries the most is, in a relegation fight you need to win, even if it's the ugly way and we all know Roberto won't change his style. So, let's hope the results come in the next few games so we can relax a little bit.

Imagine paying 28M for a striker then getting relegated, couldn't be anymore Everton!!

Starting tonight... COYB!!!

I think he already has. We've been hoofing it for 3 games in a row. Roberto has hit the panic button because he knows we don't have the players to play his style and he would have lost the dressing room if he didn't. Thank god.

(I want us to play more possession but not with these players especially Distin, Jags, Naismith and McGeady. Even the jury us out on Kev, Ross and Rom)

At least it means we won't be playing into Pulis' hands like last year.

He's not a tactical Guru but his teams are very disciplined. Hard to beat and can always hurt you. He won't win you many trophies and his style isn't suited to big teams but games against his teams are as hard as they come for a mid to low table team.

He's a bit like Moyes.

Possibly too many left backs, but I've quite liked how Baines has looked in midfield tbh, and at least we'd get some good corners from Garbutt
