Whats your greatest years?

1985-1995 for me.

Young carefree
Living in my Everton kit
No bills to pay
No social media
Muzzying ye mate after fingering a bird
Gary'd up every weekend
Stoned every day
Hot knives crippling me with belly laughs
5 of ye throwing in a quid each for fivers rocky wrapped in foil
Music was boss (at the time)
The streets were safe
Fighting was only with ye fists
Only getting new clobber at Easter and Christmas
Holidays were in a caravan in Wales
Always seeing a pair of trabs over a telephone line
Goodison park before all seating come into play
Going to Glastonbury for the first time
Getting stung by a Wembley Trophy ball
Doing the grand national through peoples gardens then getting legged
Going to Southport on the train at Easter
Bunking off school then getting stoned all day in the woods


Oh and Everton were boss for a short while.

Probably 2009 to 2011 on here. The internet was a more innocent primeval place and subject to exposed egos revealing themselves. We had chat box with @MikelsGoat and @Brownie (when they were funny) and @toxteth blue.

Multis were allowed. We had sniderman, we had jargermen. Both were born out of the greatest thing ever to exist on this site, the reputation system with red dots status and fully anon capabilities for subscribers. It was the best money I ever spent.

We had @GhostOfDixie and the World Cup. We had the transition from Moyes peaking and a decade of filthy failure just beginning.

We fought like tigers with far less modding and governed our own. We ruled the corners and they were fie, but with spect.

Then the cry ass dar and millennial bishes came crying and the mods listened to them instead of letting us CRUSH them.

Twitter is now well better.

I'm gonna buck the trend here..

Aside from my sixth form & uni years (approx. 2004-2007ish) I'd actually say that I'm living my 'best' years now.

I've got a job that keeps me busy and pays decently, a boss girlfriend whom I'm living in a nice little apartment in the city centre with, I'm still very close to my family & some of my extended family, I'm travelling to new destinations more regularly than ever and my social life is very healthy. I still also (touch wood) have my health and everyone close to me still has theirs, which I'm very thankful for.

Literally the only negative in my life atm is Everton lol which I'm seriously reconsidering...

Gotta be the 1980s. Working, no responsibility, loads of disposable income, great music, Liverpool was awash with cool bands and great places to go. Social life pre-social media and pre AIDS. Everton were brilliant, holidays in Greece with the girlfriends. What a time to be in your 20s.
