Love this thread. Here's mine without any specific order.

Get Me Away From Here, I'm Dying - Belle & Sebastian
Like A Rolling Stone - Bob Dylan
The Man Of Metropolis Steals Our Hearts - Sufjan Stevens
Walcott - Vampire Weekend
Dear Prudence - The Beatles
Award Tour - A Tribe Called Quest
Paranoid Android - Radiohead
I Am Trying To Break Your Heart - Wilco
To Be Young - Ryan Adams
Useful Chamber - Dirty Projectors

Done, boom.

I second the motion on this being a good list. Particularly the Sufjan Stevens shout. That is such a great song, and what an album.

Somebody is my age. Great list. Good to see the Cocteau Twins on there. Although I'd shade Carolyn's Fingers.

I get disappointed and smug in equal measures at how little respect or awareness the Cocteau Twins get, despite the industry recognising their contribution.

Don't know if it is the name, song and album titles or lyrical complexities that put people off, but when I have persisted with people who like all different genres they eventually succumb and love Liz's voice, Guthries production and entire composition.

Someone on here mentioned a lack of Jeff Buckley, and his duet of All flowers in time with Liz Fraser is one of the most perfect tracks ever laid down, an unknown gem too.
